I felt free to tell my sisters they were dumb for having children that needed to be represented by diamonds, emeralds and rubies.
you told _both_ sisters this? what a nice gift for your mom, btw.
I'd do the insurance now, if I could go back. But hindsight is 20/20. Does it cover issues with other dogs? If sweet Sass was lured into a snarl with someone much more nefarious at the park, for instance? Tuck was bitten several times and the other owners were very gracious about helping out with the bills.
::bubble wraps Raq and all she owns::
Damn, Raq, that's just a shitty confluence of happenings. Particularly the credit card. Such a pain.
No advice on pet insurance. I've got two cats, indoors types. Unless they choose to commit suicide by jumping out of the loft down to the first floor (and I don't foresee that causing a lot of discomfort; I had a cat fall out a third floor window onto a cement sidewalk and survive), I don't see them getting up to much.
And I just found out my DH has to travel with the Undersecretary of State at the same time I'm scheduled to attend a conference in California. So I have to cancel (which will cost $100) or take Mal to a 3-day conference.
Fuck today.
[link] (more Baltimore - radio - trauma). I am so tempted to ask for a refund of my pledge last year... I could do it too - I donated during his show. Trying not to roll my eyes at the people who are thinking of sending Brandon packs of cigarettes.

Where is the conference? If it's here, I'd be happy to help Mal-wrangle.
I achieved the trifecta. Not only do I have tonsillitis AND the flu, not only did half the lights on my car fail, but my credit card number got jacked.
Jaysus Krispy, Raq!
For God's next trick he's gonna punch you in the groin and spit on your neck.
Here's hoping your days improve forthwith.

I would have gotten insurance for one cat - because even a routine exam involves anesthesia. my 400.00 per vet visit cat.
{{Raq}} and Yikes!
I'm having a tough time today with Brandy. Suddenly today she is having trouble with her back leg collapsing. Walking at a slant with the leg giving out. She is happy as can be, eating, enthusiastic. No indication of any pain. She has had seizure issues in the past and I suspect this is neurological and not hip dysplasia. With the suddenness and the no pain. She is 12. I'm a horrible mother because I am not rushing her to the vet. I have her at work with me and am watching her for any change. Vet would be a grand as they would want to do a zillion tests. I just have to wait and see a bit. And let my dog smart neighbor look at her later. I'd say poor Brandy, but she seems to be oblivious. Poor mom.
I've looked at pet insurance for my two cats, and at their ages it would run $35 per cat per month but still wouldn't cover dental or Harvey's urinary tract issues. Daniel and I figured we would be money ahead to just sock away a set amount each month in a savings account.
