Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

So, here we are at the mini photo call, and still haven't had a sound cue.

When you post about this, omnis, I keep thinking about musical performances where there's one person there to play some weird instrument once at the end of a three hour concert.

ION, I hab a code. I'm actually feeling a bit better, but felt like total crap when I left work early today, so I didn't stop by the store to pick up things that I really need to get. And we have loads of snow on top of glare ice. I doan wanna go out!! But I have rent. Like Laga. Yeah, Laga!!!

All is well that ends in pizza.

Apparently China has a big storm, too.

It's just been extended and I hope to see it but I thought for certain that Hoch [Berkeley Rep] had some sort of link to Buffistadom. No? Yes?

I can hook you up with inside dope about ushering at the Berk Rep. The party line is here: [link] I've seen the Hoch play and it's very, very good. Short, also, which leaves lots of time to go out afterwards for coffee & dessert & chat & still get home before midnight.

I was worried about what to say when my grandmother passed away and, on the advice of many wonderful people here, told a story that showed her humor and people laughed. So many people came up to me later and told me their own fond remembrances after. It meant a lot to me.

I was the last speaker at my father's service and sobbed my way through it. It was a mistake, not that I could help it at the time. At my uncle's, my cousin told funny stories and we got great stories back. So i learned the hard way.

I'm examining the carton from the grape tomatoes to find out where they're from. (I know they're not from around here. It's January.) Grown in Mexico, by a company based in New Jersey.

Near Todo Santos (where the real Hotel California is), the tomato growers for the US market have so depleted the water table that the aquifer literally collapsed, creating "springs" in some places that can't be stopped. Those people simply have to move. The sad thing is, once that upwelling water's gone... no more nifty underground places to store pure water!

I wish I lived somewhere where local produce year-round was more practical.
coughcough: California! coughcough:

Wow, also a whole new unknown genus of geekdom.

A friend is getting into carnivorous plants and plant cloning. OMG, the geeks. Not to mention the plants are with giant buckets of goo hanging off their main stem. These: [link]

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks for the offer, Java Cat, but no need. I am part of the Petite Bourgeoisie these days - pay for my ticket and sit my ass down. :)

I am bummed about K Bug's breakup. Poor thing.

Not me. She can do so much better.

Really? I thought he seemed like a sweet kid.

But she is a wonderful girl and Kristin's right; it does give her room to breathe when she's at uni.

All is well that ends in pizza.

That's dedication.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Poor K-Bug. I hope soon she gets past the mourning stage, and starts feeling free.

Correctly phrased, that's only the commercials a fabulous.
Well, at least you didn't compare to Lifetime movies. That's what I was expecting.

Hallmark Hall of Fame movies are marginally better than Lifetime. But not by a big margin.

I am part of the Petite Bourgeoisie these days

Us, too, these days, but we are 16 people and the core group's been doing it together since the early 1980's. So we're into it, and, more money for dinner! or whatever. $70 Sat. night seat for free = no regrets if you hate the play, too.
