Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I knew a woman whose ferrets would steal cash from your purse when you visited.

We have achieved HD Plasma! The tv, surround sound and PS 3 is installed and everything works.

Owen's watching Dora on the big screen and he's entranced.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I knew a woman whose ferrets would steal cash from your purse when you visited.

Owen's watching Dora on the big screen and he's entranced.

Swiper! No swiping!!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I knew a woman whose ferrets would steal cash from your purse when you visited.

Victor and Lea have tried that line too.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Ginger, what does your tagline say?

I'm just guessing, but I think it's:

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

In Latin.

Or, it's an invocation to raise a wooden lawn rodent demon to grind her enemies.

In Latin.

The status is NOT quo.

Just an opinion here, but try one everything you like and a few you think you won't. You might be surprised at what you end up really loving.
This sums up my dating history.
HEY! Standing. Right. Here.

{{{GC and GF}}} I know I keep saying this, but please do know that we are nearby if there's anything you need.

In meme news, today has been tumultuous. Long story. Short version is that our current Head of School got hired as the Interim Head of School for Oprah's South African Leadership School and leaves this week (she's been gracious about it, but given that she didn't get the HoS position here, I can feel the smug from here. Can't blame a little "Suck it, Board of Trustees!" on her part). Our current upper school director is serving as the acting head until the new HoS starts work here in July, but the new HoS is trying to come out every other week from now until then. New HoS is finishing out the year as upper school director of a girls school in Atlanta, so it's pretty chaotic all around.

The capper of my day was when I was sitting peacefully at my desk, writing comments on students' notes while they worked together to review Book 4 of The Odyssey. Normally my room is interactive and student-centered, and I do my best to be right in the middle of the action. Today, when I was doing my best impression of "Old School Teacher at Desk," the new HoS--who is currently here visiting--walks into my room to observe. t headdesk

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

MM's first guess is right.

"Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?" is "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?" in Latin. It's in honor of groundhog day.

Mostly lurking...

Cashmere, YAY!

Ginger, BOO! Though, that could be a fun trick to teach him!

ION, I love the Internet. Just in case I haven't said it recently. Just tracked down a chapter from a book that hasn't been printed yet--on the author's website. SO fantastic!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I used babelfish to translate into German and back into English:

How much would wood clamp a forest marble animal, if a forest marble animal could clamp wood?

English to Japanese and back:

Which rank wood if as for the woodchuck the woodchuck can install the wood with the chuck, is installed with the chuck?

English to Russian and back:

How much wood woodchuck chuck if woodchuck smog chuck wood?

eta: English to Chinese (traditional) and back:

How many woods can arctomys pat if arctomys can pat the wood?
