[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

move out and draw fire

The Fred Phelps folks aren't doing their message any favors. They are creating so much sympathy for the families and friends of the departed that I'm almost okay with them.

But...no. They are rude and should be immolated. No one who's that miserable and hate-filled is really worth keeping around.

Cash, I'm glad your DH made up! I almost had to come here last week and ask for alibis and people to help hide the body for a similar incident.

Yay for all the good news here! And health vibes for omnis!

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Yay for Cash's DH having the guts to admit he fucked up, and do something about it! Gold star! Housepoint!

And a mighty yay for all the good Buffista news - jobs and books and health and all that fabulousness! Awesome! Although I evidently missed the Omnis news somehow, but I gather health-ma is in order - punctuation and best wishes for a speedy recovery your way, love.

Bonny, everyone beat me to it wrt the logo. Although I do agree that your version needs tightening up to look more professional - but the whole dog-with-a-long-human-fact thing is just disturbing. And a strange choice, imho. Your version was stylistically more reminiscent of the Power Puff Girls, which is a nice direction to go - you could try to approach the person who does Potter Puffs on LJ? Obviously she's not limited to the Power Puff Girl house style, and the wee doggy in that CSI image suggests to me that she'd do a better job of a cute pup in a lotus than the friend of a friend did.

Our wings are not tired

My hatred of Fred Phelps is huge. Each time I think it can't get bigger that asstool proves that he can make me hate him even more.

Not javachik

Congratulations, askye and Jilli and dcj and PC!

For goodness sake, The Dog Whisperer speaks on corporate platforms!

I know you were talking about customer service, but that reminded me of this, a really interesting article about dog training, focusing on the issue of Ian Dunbar’s techniques vs. Cesar Millan’s (the dog whisperer). Dunbar has amazing cred*, while Millan is getting hot media attention, even though Millan…

the American Humane Association requested that the National Geographic Channel stop the show immediately, citing Millan's training tactics as "inhumane, outdated and improper."

[link]

Millan promotes the dog-as-wolf theory, which Dubar disputes.

  • > There is a quiet battle being fought in dog-training circles, and Dunbar, though he didn't pick the fight, represents one side. The mild, very mannered Dunbar is armed with degrees and scientific study: a veterinary degree and a Special Honors in physiology and biochemistry from the Royal Veterinary College of London University, a doctorate in animal behavior from the psychology department of UC Berkeley and a decade of research on the olfactory communication, social behavior and aggression in domestic dogs. All this, plus decades of dog-training experience.

I glommed onto the article when I read it because my sister is forever promoting the dogs-as-wolf theory and, well, she is not a shining example of a dog owner, shall we say.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

What? What was that?

Looks like my computer should be working again tomorrow.

Oh ya, my "bass drum belly" seemed to go away by the time I got home. I'm wondering if the bedrest ordered actually was counter productive to digestion. Silly doctors.
