The Fred Phelps folks aren't doing their message any favors. They are creating so much sympathy for the families and friends of the departed that I'm almost okay with them.

Bonny, everyone beat me to it wrt the logo. Although I do agree that your version needs tightening up to look more professional - but the whole dog-with-a-long-human-fact thing is just disturbing. And a strange choice, imho. Your version was stylistically more reminiscent of the
Power Puff Girls,
which is a nice direction to go - you could try to approach the person who does Potter Puffs on LJ? Obviously she's not limited to the Power Puff Girl house style, and the wee doggy in that CSI image suggests to me that she'd do a better job of a cute pup in a lotus than the friend of a friend did.
