Well I'm sitting here filling out the application and I realize that the dates are wrong on the resume,

Like not a few months off YEARS off.

I don't know how this happened or how I didn't catch it.

I have myself working at the temp agency from October 2002 to 2003, that's not right at all. It's Feb 2004.

How could i make such a huge mistake? I'm never getting the job now. They'll look at my applicationand the resume and see the mistakes and never hire me.

they're not proofing the thing, they're just getting the information in one place

if you end up hired, tell them you found a typo on your resume and you don't want their records to be inaccurate so you're giving them a new one. its not like you've got something deceptive on there to make yourself look better

Actually if I have to redo my damn resume one more time I'm going to cry.

I'm not joking. I can't get it right no matter what I do there's always one mistake that I see that I try to fix and somehow that leads to two more mistakes. I had to redo parts of it this mrnign before the interview because I caught a typo.

But not the glaring error.

And every time I feel like an idiot because I can't get it right. If it's not a content issue it's some dumb thing like bullet points.

Does anyone know of a resume service where I can just give them the raw data and have them make the resume? At this point I'll pay pretty much anything because I just can't keep doing this. I spent 15 minutes this morning just trying to get 3 bullet points to work.

I ened up feeling so useless and foolish because I can't seem to do this.

I'm way more upset than I thought, I'm going to put this away for right now and come back to it in hour. I hve to get the application turned in by 4:30.

Also in job news...I got the job I interviewed for on Friday. Not only did I not disappoint my friends (the both of them called, emailed-I'm sure they would have sent a carrier pigeon had they had one this morning to let me know), but they chose me over another candidate who could start immediately. Yay, happy and proud!

Soon, anxiety about giving short notice and being competent at new job.

But for now coffee and self-satisfaction!
