Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Speaking of diets and food, I heartily endorse Cook's Illustrated's method for roasting a chicken. They have you start it out on its side, switching sides after 15 minutes, and then turning the heat up a notch and flipping it on its back in the traditional position for the remainder of the cooking time. It gets the thighs to cook faster so that the breast meat doesn't dry out waiting for it to catch up.
Figuring out the best way to turn it was a bit of a task - I eventually ended up just using my hands and a wooden spoon. But it was easy enough. They also have you rub some butter on before it goes in the over, along with salt and pepper, but otherwise no basting or other messing around with it. It worked beautifully.
How did I get here?
So. Tired. How could I have possibly gotten through the morning routine and arrived at work...on time, even?
How?
Interview over.
I won't say I rocked it but I think I did well. I tried to think of quesitons to ask but he'd told me almost everything I possibly would want to know.
He gave me an application to fill out and turn back in later today, it's fairly long.
He gave me a benefits summary and I asked about salary, towards the end of the interview, I wasn't sure about if I should or not, but since he brought up benefits I thought it might be okay.
It pays more. There are 2 bonuses through the year (xmas and also performance if you earn it). Health insurance paid, dental insurance paid, 401K. 8:30-4:30pm every day, he said no one stays later than 4:30 pm and that there's not a reason to. 1 hour lunch!
He said that he'd be calling about 2nd interviews at the end of the week/being of next.
That's good right? That he mentioned the second interview right?
So continuted job ma.
askye, that's wonderful! GO YOU! job-getting~ma!
coffee:
Very Good Letter-getting ~ma SuziQ!
Woo hoo! Job~ma, askye, it sounds perfect!
Welcome back, vw! I'm home now, too.
Good letter getting~ma to Suzi!
Yay, askye!!!!!
I am home with the day off. All these days off for holidays are still very weird to me, but I love them! I do have some papers to grade, but it shouldn't take more than an hour or 2.
Well I'm sitting here filling out the application and I realize that the dates are wrong on the resume,
Both copies.
Like not a few months off YEARS off.
I don't know how this happened or how I didn't catch it.
I have myself working at the temp agency from October 2002 to 2003, that's not right at all. It's Feb 2004.
How could i make such a huge mistake? I'm never getting the job now. They'll look at my applicationand the resume and see the mistakes and never hire me.
It's all wrong on what I sent Vortex and Daisy, I don't know how I got it so fucking wrong.
{{{askye}}} Oh, honey. I don't think this is a make it or break it thing. Just attach a note with the application (or a new resume). Breathe, you. Also, much job~ma to both you and SuziQ.
And I did take a nap. For two hours. It was wonderful.
askye, it is unlikely they will even notice.
they're not proofing the thing, they're just getting the information in one place
if you end up hired, tell them you found a typo on your resume and you don't want their records to be inaccurate so you're giving them a new one. its not like you've got something deceptive on there to make yourself look better
this sounds like a good job for you and you deserve one.
