Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

so I couldn't figure out why it was so cold in my apartment. I stepped out on the balcony to see if it was windy and discovered it's cold in my apartment because it is EFFING COLD outside. It's like 10 degrees!! and it feels really wet. I was going to walk to the bar to meet my friends for the Packers game, but I'm going to drive.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

where do you see yourself in 5 years

The Draconian Dictator principal actually asked me that at my evaluation last year. He then went on to tell me that I didn't want to be at the school. He commented that I "seemed to get sick a lot" and that he felt I got sick because I didn't want to be at the school or teaching.

While it is true that I get bronchitis at least once a year, it has been the case for over 20 years! I have allergies and asthma. It is also true that I have missed less that 5 days of work because of illness in the 9 years I've been at this school.

On a hammock in the keys drinking wine and reading thick novels? Perhaps I'd get points for honesty.

I had a boss when I was 19 that said allergies were always psychosomatic and asked what my real problem was. I quit and walked out on the spot. Only regretted that for about 30 minutes. Jerk.

I'm watching Children of the Corn. I never saw it before. Nifty fun.

I'll save that for this year.

I almost told him, "doing your job." I stopped myself. Selling my soul to be an administrator in my district isn't something I see happening. Too many people around here ruined by the job of school administration.

Sounds like one of my college professors. She also said that migraine headaches and PMS were in the same category.

It is a blessing that I have never been plagued with either migraines or PMS issues. This does not keep me from believing they are real and that the victims do not wish them on themselves. All you people claiming asthma and diabetes, get over it already! Looking for attention?

When I encounter people like this they fall into the same category as bigots for me. No time for closed minded jerks in my life.

Once again, hugs Buffistas tight.

I have a question for those of you who have fully stopped using plastic grocery sacks: what do you use for garbage? Here, we're required to bag our garbage. I currently use the plastic sacks I get at the grocery for garbage/used kitty litter. I did try buying biodegradable garbage sacks once, but they were so flimsy that I couldn't get them open without tearing them, much less actually put garbage in them, and that doesn't seem like it would save anything. I do have a couple of carry bags that fold up into their own attached pouches, and I use them sometimes, but just haven't figured my way around the garbage thing.

And, on a completely different topic, I find it really funny that I'm sitting here in Alaska in warm comfort (well, it's all a matter of perspective I suppose, but it's been above freezing during the day recently), while others complain of frigid temps. It seems wrong, but I do wish warm toesies for all my freezingistas!

not your mom's socks.

That is just rude. I hate rude. If he is not suffering from delusions that you are in fact someone else, he is trying to intimidate you. Next evaluation, I'd take a folder full of CYA evidence that will help you politely refute all of the falsehoods and generalities he tosses at you with facts. Not only will it put him on notice that you are keeping track, and that the truth might be more helpful to your professional development than his random assumptions of what is going on, it will give you documentation that you can use in a "as I pointed out to DraconianDic when I met with him on May 5, 2008, ..." way.

I just took the Myers-Briggs test on Facebook. I've taken this test many times before, including on Facebook, and every time it has turned out either INFP or ENFP. The I and E have always been close and gone back and forth depending on current circumstances, but the others have been pretty solid. This time, I turned out INFJ. I thought that perhaps I had made a mistake, and retook it, reading the questions carefully this time, but I ended up with the same. What's up with that?

I firmly believe it is the latter.

Exactly what I plan on doing...

Thanks for the advice, Sox.
