GC, you guys need to report the contractor to the BBB and any other consumer advocate or business listing they might be on. If they would do something so underhanded as to break your collectible and then glue them together hoping you wouldn't notice, others should be warned.

I know you're busy and stressed but when you guys have the time, it might make you feel better to get the story out to the appropriate channels.

I told her the same thing. They absolutely deserved it. It was completely uncomfortable, but they created the situation. And it's done - we got the keys gave them the final check and said, "PLEASE let the door hit you in the ass on your way out." I can't believe how unprofessional they are, and how much we (over)paid because we thought we were getting superior service. Plus neither of us can even look at that bathroom at the moment, we are so pissed.

It will pass. It is also very much tied to GF's dad's situation in that it feels way worse just because if feels like the universe is piling on. The little shit that normally is just annoying feels bigger at the moment. Plus her mom did something really shitty last night that hurt my feelings and pissed off GF and we can't say/do anything about it because she's going through shit with her husband dying in the hospital. I just feel like crap today.

Speaking for myself, I would totally hire this over specific skills, since tasks change in any job, and this shows brains and self-motivation.

On the cold remedy - these days I fix myself hot herbal tea with lemon and honey and gargle with salt water when I have a sore throat. I can't take most OTC medications, so that's about all I can do. I can and do take Mucinex - it helps keep me from getting a sinus infection.

One time, in college, a bunch of us were in the infirmary with terrible flu, lots of coughing. The school doctor made up cough medicine of whiskey and honey. It did help.
