[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Mostly lurking...

I'm even being productive on this trip! I've been working on schoolwork, which, well, I'd share, except it would probably bore everyone to pieces. But! I just finished this baby outfit, which I started in like June or July! It's about time! [link]

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

MM, what sound will they make when you mount their heads on stakes, again?

Art Crawl!!!

I'm tired and cranky today and don't understand why Comcast prefers new customers to people who've been with them 4 ever.

Now tagless for your comfort.

sumi, once you're a customer, you're unlikely to change that. So they can screw you over. The lack of adequate competition in cable markets sucks and they have us over a barrel.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

That reminds me--I have to schedule installation of my new HD cable box (with DVR, my first!) today. I don't know why they charge $17 to come on out with a new cable box, but they do. It sucks.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I still haven't decided whether to get a second DVR. I'm hemming and hawing.

They won't sell me dvr because I only have digital cable and digital voice and if I got the high speed internet access and the dvr the whole thing would cost almost $200.00 or twice as much as their new customers.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Can you threaten to leave, sumi? Make them woo you back?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm tired and cranky today and don't understand why Comcast prefers new customers to people who've been with them 4 ever.

Count your blessings. When I called Direct TV to see about getting their DVR they wanted an additional $50 "new customer fee" because I hadn't been with them long enough to develop a relationship. "And at this rate, that's never going to happen" was my response, along with cancelling two of my three receivers out of spite.

They won't sell me dvr because I only have digital cable and digital voice

Also, what? That makes no sense at all.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Comcast doesn't give a shit because you're not under contract. I specifically asked a guy if they were doing anything to compete with the AT&T U-Verse, which would give me cable and Internet for almost half the damn price of Comcast, and I said I was thinking of switching, and he said I was free to do so. Didn't try to convince me to stay at all.

Because he didn't need to. He knew I'd stay because changing would be a hassle and I was happy with the service if not the price. I knew nothing about the AT&T service.
