Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It's okay, sj. Prilosec is an acid-production blocker, but apparently it's not blocking enough. If this happens often, you might want to ask your doctor about increasing your dosage. Mine had me go to two a day for a while.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Grrrrrrr. The kids have a habit of closing the French doors between the family room and the living room. This doesn't bother me. It drives DH insane for some unknown reason.

He came in and said, "They only shut these when you're around. They leave them alone when they're with me."

Me: "Um. Yeah. Why does it bother you if they're shut?"

Him: "I don't know. It just does."

Me: "Does it hurt to have the doors shut?"

Him: "No. But I'd appreciate it if you would discourage them from doing it."

Me: "OK. I'll do my best."

So I'm supposed to correct the kids for SHUTTING DOORS?! WTF?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

If he feels that strongly about it, maybe he should look for some doorstops to prop them open and discourage them that way. Or else just get over it. Either way, I'm not sure why you're involved.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh yeah, one of my personal non-favorites. Stand with me in parental solidarity even if you don't agree! I try and pick my battles, alas they are usually not the same battles that DH would prefer to pick.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I read once that french fries were the worst food that Americans eat. I don't know, but yeah, potatoes are not great.

I can believe that, with the nutritional value (or lack thereof) and the fat they're cooked in. That's why they should be cooked in duck fat.

I was ready to kill someone and use their skull as a rice cooker.

words cannot express how much I love this statement.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

That's why they should be cooked in duck fat.

This may just be the best idea EVAR.

I think that's what he's trying to do. In his mind, she's not standing with him because she's not telling the kids to keep the doors open.

There's also some crazy chemical reaction that happens with potatoes when they're cooked to a certain temp that makes them super-duper bad for you. Oh french fries, why must you betray us so?

Thanks; Ginger. I'll call my doctor on Monday.

Yes, I'm sure that's what he's feeling. I'd stand with him more readily if he could have a reasonable explanation of why something so minor bothers him so much. This is often the case with him and the kids. Because I spend 14 hours a day with them, I'm much more prone to let the little stuff slide and work on the big stuff. His time with them is more limited so he doesn't let anything slide.

Hazard of the SAHM job, I suppose.
