Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I went to the same H&O concert tour as JZ, Vortex and Plei as my first concert.

Would that I had, but alas, I didn't ever see them live! I just think it rules that y'all did.

Anyone want to wager a guess at my first concert?

Hah, I was totally going to guess NKOTB, but Jilli beat me to it.

My first concert (that I paid money for, I don't count the free 4th of July ones we usually went to downtown) was either Barenaked Ladies (during their getting-radio-play-but-band-was-not-yet-huge Old Apartment days) or...Lilith Fair. Aww, yeah.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

My mom and dad took me to Shaun Cassidy as a surprise. We went to Atlanta (were living in Spartanburg, SC at the time) for the weekend and I think he played at the Omni. We went out to dinner and next thing I knew, we were seeing Shaun! That is a pretty awesome memory, actually. Sweet parents! Except for the "Hey Deanie" taunt 30 years later...

My first on my own with friends concert was New Edition (I was like 14, I think). Hell, I still like me some New Edition. I'm not ashamed!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think my first concert was Whitney Houston. It was really good--she had a great male acapella group opening for her, and she sang lots of non-pop songs as well.

My first concert was Bon Jovi, on the Crossroads world tour. Oh yes.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I don't think of Shaun Cassidy as a rock star, but as a Hardy Boy.

Me too. I had a serious crush on Parker Stevenson at the time. Of course, I'm not sure *how* serious it was considering I also had crushes on Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica) and Anthony Andrews (Danger UXB, which was playing on Masterpiece Theater).

Yes, I was young, and they were my linoleum. And yes, Sunday night was the best night on television.

Burrell is me w/r/t the better Hardy Boy, forget-Starbuck-I-like-the-dark-haired-one, and the blonde exception that proved the rule for Danger UXB.

In fact, I just made a UXB joke (calling the puppy "Danger UXP" when we take her out of the crate in the a.m. and she's got to go outside) which my DH didn't get at all. I was so disappointed.
