I am SAHM today, but no jammies and fun. It is forcing Bobby to do his damn work properly time. He had 4 projects to do over break. A diorama and handout for language, a research paper for science, redoing his logbook for engineering because he lost it. He did the handout because it was read a passage and bubble in the answer. His diorama is pathetic. He still hasn't done the log book. When I went to bed last night he was completing his paper on fuels and his dad proofread it. Somehow he missed 2 of my favorite sentences.
Hydrogen: may be used as gas someday.
Biodiesel can be made from weed.
I wrote a comment in red after every paragraph on what needed to be fixed. 2 paragraphs are marked as good. Ugh!
Biodiesel can be made from weed.
Hmmm, this might solve the whole dependency on foreign oil issue.
He didn't mention any of the other things it could be made from, noooooooo, it mentioned hemp as a source and that was all it took. Mom may end up a stoner before we get both boys through high school.
Fay, Ms. Havisham reviewed it on our manga review blog a while back. Review can be found here.
Short version, too pedestrian...
Hey CaBil, how are you and Ms. H doing?
Yeah, Ms H nails it. Well, you know, other than how I found the slashiness of Jareth one of the better things about the book. (Dude. He's played by
David Bowie.
Of course one would expect him to flirt with boys as well as girls.)
What was particularly odd, though, was the little snippet of
The Dark Crystal
manga included at the end of the volume, as a sneak peak type affair. Complete with cracktastic Business!Skeksis giving a presentation to the board.

A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat!
Say no more!
Hey Frank! Did you know that Scott (head brewer dude) was fired from Salem BW on Xmas Eve?
Thanks for the compliments on my beading. I have been having fun making them and the design has evolved with each one.
I am not all that familiar with how etsy works yet or how to promote myself there, but I figure that site would be easier to work with than trying to sell on ebay.
For me, it is all about stress relief. Making things keeps me from completely going mad. Cross stitch, papercrafting, crocheting, and now beading...
If it kills me the boys will learn how to write a decent paper. I have always refused to do their work for them, and have never had the prettiest science fair project. My method I am working with is to take the paper and add a brief comment after every paragraph. (ignoring that some sentences really don't deserve to be paragraphs) Mostly tiny comments like. commas are our friends, or acronyms are capitalized. I don't fix anything. They use Word, and you would think the squiggly red and green lines would be a hint that something is amiss. I clearly should have spent more time on this in the past, but better in 7th grade than 9th. I don't know how teachers do it. Hard work.
eta: The best thing I did was install voice recognition. It has helped with getting something on the paper in the first place.
