Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2007: Heaven's Just a Funky Moose

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2007? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

Swouncing

Secret Santa players: if your gift wasn't sent or received yet, you should have an e-mail from me (and if you don't, could you please ping me at my profile address? I'd hate to think I missed someone and spoil the game for them).

There are five people who are still giftless. Some, as I could see from posts above, have that being taken care of. Some are at different stages of that, but I'm sure nobody will remain giftless - worst case scenario, they will give a "bigger" meaning to the word "slacker".

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

I'm assuming something happened with my Santa as well—I never received a package or word of what went awry.

I had a moment of terror that I had, perhaps, completely forgotten to send mine... then I realized that you were my gifter, not my giftee. Sometimes I get confused like that.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

libkitty is the best stand-in Sekrit Santa a girl could hope for! There's a pair of beautiful pomegranate seed earrings (OMG, love!), Alaskan tea, a very fun and fuzzy pink princess-y mirror, and a few other things lovingly placed in the box of goodies that made me think, "My cup, she doth overfloweth."

Thank you so much! It's a wonderful April-mas present.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm so glad to hear that you got the box, Maria, and gladder still to hear that you like it. When I read that you like pomegranates, I thought of this jewelry right away, that I had seen in some local craft shows. It took some librarian skills and tenaciousness to track them down, since they are apparently not in any store, but I was hoping that they would be just right. And as soon as I saw it, I knew that the mirror had to go to a buffista.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

My sister is divorcing the asshat.

I traded one deadbeat roommate for one roommate extraordinaire... and his deadbeat brother. Fortunately both of them are super hot and neither has a skanky, whiny girlfriend. Also: even though one person moved out and two people moved in, all of our bills went down.

2007 can kiss my squishy white ass... I'm going to Disneyland!

I just had the best Christmas ever. Details to follow when I'm more coherent.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

So how did that work, did you TiVo it?

Mystery Science Theatre 3000: Manos, hand of fate, Reefer Madness the musical and 24 Hour Party People, and also I got Ratso and Gonzo pirate figures and a trip to Disneyland! 'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

MOST excellent. It certainly sounds worth waiting for. :-)
