Goodbye and Good Riddance 2007: Heaven's Just a Funky Moose

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2007? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yes -- the box came! But it's sitting down in the living room unopened, where my roommate left it with the vague idea that I'd actually be spending enough time there this weekend to notice it was there. Or, for that matter, checking back here to find out that the package had been delivered.

Now I shall go downstairs, with a sharp object in my hand....

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

...she's been down there a while. I hope she didn't run down the stairs with the sharp object!

We had a power outage! It's like there's a conspiracy or something to keep me from letting you know how neat the presents were -- toys (slinky! ball thingie! magnets!), but also a Talk to Her poster, SIGNED which would be the crown jewel, but then there's the Motivational Magneto picture, which I really didn't know I needed.

So: best presents I got this year!!!!1!

Now, that the lights are back on, to start rearranging pictures on the walls and all.....

YAY!

I have had that poster for ages. We showed Talk to Her at my theatre a couple weeks after the initial run started so when I called to request a poster for our display case they said they were sorry but the only ones they had left were signed. I said hey no problem and it went up in the case for the short time we had the movie on screen. Then I just had to take it home and frame it. It sat in the tube. Occasionally I took it out and looked at it and thought about how neat it was but then it went back in the tube.

Then one day I was cyber-stalking you to try and figure out what kind of gifts you'd like and I happened to see Almodovar among your lj favorites list. I mean I love Almodovar but I never put him on any list of mine. Clearly this poster was meant to be yours. All this time- I was just holding it for you.

The Magneto thing was a total bonus. I could not believe I found it. I even had to ask my roomie, "that's Magneto right?"

edit: ooh and the ball thingie... it changes colors when you throw it!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

What does Motivational Magneto say?

POSSIBILITIES "Within me lies infinite power... before me, endless possibilities... Decisions... Decisions... Decisions."

I already have a t-shirt that says IF ONLY I COULD USE MY POWERS FOR GOOD INSTEAD OF EVIL.

Decisions... Decisions... Decisions

And it was in this huge stack of super-hero motivational posters including Spider-Man (RESPONSIBILITY) and the Fantastic 4 (TEAMWORK). I guess even evil geniuses need motivating sometimes.

Spider-Man (RESPONSIBILITY)

NO, REALLY?

Fantastic 4 (TEAMWORK)

Hee. Is there The Incredible Hulk (STRENGTH)? Er, Wolverine (OMNIPRESENCE)?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

There was definitely a babyish looking Hulk (like in the style of Tiny Toons) but I can't recall his motivation. I don't remember if I saw a Wolverine but

Spider-Man (RESPONSIBILITY)

NO, REALLY?

really! bet you can't guess what the copy under the headline was.

Did they seriously not get more original than that?
