If the internet's going to be this slow all day, I'm going to die before the end of the workday.

The snow alert here in Somerville has come to nothing, which I suppose is all right, but still somewhat annoying what with the preparations I made.
I'm actually reading Yuletide stories, finally!
There was no snow here but there was beautiful feathery ice on my car this morning.
I just got to pass of my resident complainer! He's not my problem anymore! Wheee! (of course, he still calls ME, not the helpline, but still. He has someone new to be a jerk to!)
Sometimes it's nice to pass the complainer off.
I wrote a complaint about the lack of heat which I have deleted. The deletion makes this post less ironic.
I'm going to die before the end of the workday.
Don't die. I just stopped moaning for someone to kill me. And nobody did! So you don't get to bogart my dying mojo.
I'm at work. I am pale, several pounds lighter, feeling kinda delicate, and I cannot breathe. Stuff is broken, so I can't do any work. We may get let go early today, and if we do and I am still upright, I may go to the DMV.
Because clearly I am insane.
Lack of heat is a good complaint!
shrift, you are nuts. DMV? OTOH, NYE might find the place more empty than usual.
I think DMV on NYE might be a brilliant idea. I had to go to the district to resolve my pay dispute last week and I waited for no more than 5 minutes, which is amazing.
Speaking of which: The CFO of the district sent a letter to all employees 7 days before the deadline to resolve this shit. Here's the gist that most people probably didn't see due to the holidays.
If you opted to do nothing about an overpayment, then in 2008, you are now responsible for not only the net overpayment, but also the GROSS overpayment. So while I was responsible for the $4000 they said I received, on paper, they overpaid me by $7000 something. But the the $3000 in taxes were not my responsibility. Since I resolved it in the same tax year, it's been fixed somehow.
But people who DIDN'T resolve it in the same tax year, are now responsible for gross amount. Does that make any sense to any of you who know anything about taxes?
My driver's license expires on the 3rd. And while I am not driving, I figure it is good to have a valid picture ID, you know?
Although when one considers that this is the longest I have spent upright since last Wednesday and I have eaten approximately two meals in the last five days, I probably will not be functional by this afternoon.
I have a slip of paper in my wallet that says I have a license. I'm waiting for them to mail me my new one. Freaky feeling.
Kat, that is just fucked and bizarre. But I know nothing from taxes.
shrift, you never know, you might have a relapse and have to drive yourself to the ER on the 4th! So perhaps by a DMV stop, you will ward off the relapse and the need?
Hey, I use the same principle with umbrellas....
Kat, perhaps the tax laws work that way on the planet that admin comes from. So nice they're notifying you just before the end of the year when most people are away and couldn't do anything about it any way.
