I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hey, who knows anything about Chico, California?

I lived there for 3 or 4 years while I was in graduate school. What kind of info are you looking for?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Just what it's like, mainly, since I may end up moving there.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy belated B-Day's Jesse and Theodosia!

I love being home, but this needing to be at work thing can bite me.

Absolutely. Would the world seriously grind to a halt if we just took off from Christmas eve until after the New Year?

Trust my rage

I had a dr. appt this morning (all is as should be with baby) and then played hookie this afternoon. I actually feel a tad guilty but not enough to have changed my actions.

Well, this is what I remember fron the mid 90s, so it may have changed but probably not by a lot.

It's pretty small-town, very college town. Almonds and rice are the big crops in the area, Sierra Nevada Brewing is right there, real estate is cheap both to rent and to buy (compared to the rest of California, anyway). A lot of bars downtown catering to the college, some with live music, not much in the way of fine dining but some good diners. Used to be a nice little family-run art house theater downtown that I hope is still there. Two malls and a Wal-mart. A large-ish Mormon community and also a pretty thriving gay community. Excellent parks and bike trails that will get you a lot of places, I have no memory of any public transit at all. easy access to canoeing and kayaking, not far to go for river rafting or skiing. It's pretty flat, itself, atrociously hot in the summers and mild in the winters, lots of pollen in the spring.

What are the conflicting things you've heard, out of curiousity?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hellmouth? Mothra's nesting ground?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

SERIOUSLY! When I worked for a tiny non-profit, they had a policy of the office being closed for that week and it was a great decision. I am getting some work done this week, but mostly because it is my last few days and one project I know more than anyone else. Nothing is on deadline and everyone else is either wasting time online or catching up on work that gets shafted when we are busy - all of which could be done from home.

YAY for good baby reports.

I definitely would have noticed a Hellmouth, so I'll say no to that, but Mothra might have slipped past me.
