I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I've carried around St. Christopher medals. I figure he's not a real saint and I'm not a real Catholic so it all works out.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Worst Christmas evah?

Iowa man spends Christmas Eve stuck upside-down in opening of septic tank

DES MOINES, Iowa - It was a stinky holiday for Robert Schoff.

The 77-year-old man spent part of Christmas Eve stuck upside down in the opening of his septic tank, with his head inside and his feet kicking in the air above.

"It wasn't good, I'll tell you what," Schoff said Tuesday. "It was the worst Christmas Eve I've ever had."

Schoff reached into the tank Monday in an effort to find a clog, but he lost his balance and got wedged into the opening.

The 5-foot-5, 135-pound Schoff hollered and screamed for help, but it was an hour before his wife, Toni, walked by a window and saw his feet in the air.

brillig

St. Sithney is the patron of mad dogs because he said he'd rather deal with mad dogs than the young women that God proposed Sithney be patron of.

Dunno what this picture is... bubble-girl takes bubble-dog for walkies? Equipment for walking the dog in the post-nuclear holocaust?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

CSI Vatican division

I like it. It smells of Miracles.

I think I just finished up Full Metal Alchemist. Twitchy and unsleepy. Twitchy and unsleepy. My poor sister has conked out. She comes here to take care of me and falls victim to the lergies.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Worst Christmas evah?

I'm going to have to vote for the guy eaten by a tiger at the SF Zoo.

SoCal sucks at their tigers.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Because nobody gets eaten down there?

Precisely.

Happy Birthday, Jesse and Theo!

I am supposed to pick someone up from LAX. The only problem is I don't know what time her flight gets in. She was supposed to email me that information, but I never got it. I emailed her yesterday evening, but she must not have received that in time. I've also sent her a text message to call me the second her flight lands, and I keep checking her phone every half hour to see if it's turned on yet. So far, it's not. From what I remember when she asked me to get her, she was guessing her plane got in around 6:30, but she wasn't really sure, and that's why she was going to email me the time. The flight is coming from Eastern Europe, so clearly once she got in the air, she was going to stay that way for most of the day, and thus incommunicado, but that still leaves me wondering when, exactly, I'm supposed to go make the 45 minute drive to the airport. Although, on the bright side, the later this flight is, the less likely I am to face intense traffic.

Do you know the flight number and airline? If you do, you can check on-line, or phone the airline.
