OK, what the hell. Not the sort of headline I expect to read: a tiger escaped from the zoo and killed someone...in San Francisco!?!

I mean, seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if I read that about some random place, but possibly four tigers escaping from the San Francisco Zoo?? OMG!

I set my parents' roomba off tonight in lieu of being able to run my own. Given the layout of this house, it kinda goes berserk. Normally, they confine it to one room at a time, but humored me. I've got nice parents.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Cute, cute, cutiehead babies!

I saw "P.S. I Love You" today, mostly because "Atonement" was sold out, but also because I liked all the actors in it. I also really enjoyed the movie, but kept giggling every time they wanted me to think that the cast was under 30, or thereabouts. I mean, I love them, but Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, James Marsters, Gina Gershon, Lisa Kudrow? You guys all totally rock, but you aren't 28. Or 19--that one scene was especially distracting. I mean, really. But overall, I quite enjoyed it. And it's especially good if you're up for a cry here and there. (White fonted just to be extra safe. No big plot points revealed.)

Then my friend and I walked over to a Chinese restaurant. And then I felt totally Jewish. I mean, a movie and Chinese food, a big fondness for Christmas, but no actual decorations up in my house. It was like I was suddenly experiencing the Christmas experience the way 80% of my friends in high school (on Long Island) usually did.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm afraid to put unknown chinese food in my belly.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

One baby to rule them all.

(I just watched all the LOTR movies....)

Sorry, Tommy, I edited to include older spawn and made you look craxy. Babies, kidlets--they're all pretty damned cute.

I'm watching a couple of students take a special make-up exam. They're so few, and it's so early in the morning, I put them in my room in the university.

That's a perfectly good excuse to play on b.org, right? I mean, I don't have enough attention span for both watching them as well as actual work, right?

Hey, Nilly! I'm looking at a clock that reads Israeli time right now! My 16-year-old cousin, who just got back from the "most amazing trip ever" to Israel, is madly in love with your country and culture, so she still has the clock in your time zone in her room. (I'm staying in her bedroom in Arizona one more night--been here celebrating Christmas.)

Kristin!

What is Arizona time? Is it like the board's, or a different timezone?

Also, yay for enjoying a visit to Israel! Where has she been? Was this an arranged-for-groups (err, where is my vocabulary?) trip, or something smaller? [Edit: hmm, and what does she mean by "culture"? Just one? We have so many! But maybe that's the culture she's talking about? Hmm.]

Everybody should come visit Israel! Um, and not even because I am here and will get to see you. Because it's lovely.
