hip deep in pie

So I can't wait to get home and hook up my new TiVo! Xmas was lovely. I got a TiVo, a new cordless phone set, some clothes and a lovely cut velvet scarf from my nephew. He's full of surprises for an 11 year old.

My brother and his family bought my parents a new Sony Bravia Flat screen. My dad has been talking about flat screen TVs ad nauseum for months now, so that was pretty sweet.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Now that it's too late to make my annual chrismakah chicken dinner, I am STARVING. And opening a can of soup is just too heartbreaking.

Who delivers pizza that won't contain the bitter spit of those stuck working today?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Instead of Pizza, any Chinese restaurants that deliver?

OK, what the hell. Not the sort of headline I expect to read: a tiger escaped from the zoo and killed someone...in San Francisco!?!

I mean, seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if I read that about some random place, but possibly four tigers escaping from the San Francisco Zoo?? OMG!

I set my parents' roomba off tonight in lieu of being able to run my own. Given the layout of this house, it kinda goes berserk. Normally, they confine it to one room at a time, but humored me. I've got nice parents.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Cute, cute, cutiehead babies!

I saw "P.S. I Love You" today, mostly because "Atonement" was sold out, but also because I liked all the actors in it. I also really enjoyed the movie, but kept giggling every time they wanted me to think that the cast was under 30, or thereabouts. I mean, I love them, but Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, James Marsters, Gina Gershon, Lisa Kudrow? You guys all totally rock, but you aren't 28. Or 19--that one scene was especially distracting. I mean, really. But overall, I quite enjoyed it. And it's especially good if you're up for a cry here and there. (White fonted just to be extra safe. No big plot points revealed.)

Then my friend and I walked over to a Chinese restaurant. And then I felt totally Jewish. I mean, a movie and Chinese food, a big fondness for Christmas, but no actual decorations up in my house. It was like I was suddenly experiencing the Christmas experience the way 80% of my friends in high school (on Long Island) usually did.

I'm afraid to put unknown chinese food in my belly.
