If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm taking those cranberry things in to work today. They held up beautifully overnight, which I wasn't sure about. (Someone on the site I got the recipe from posted a question about that, and the response was "yeah, sorry - we ate them to fast to be able to answer that question".)

They're amazing - crunchy on the outside and then they sort of *pop* in your mouth. Definitely a keeper - I think they'll make a great treat to bring to holiday parties rather than one more plate of cookies or cheese ball. The only drawback is you do need to start them the night before, or at least early in the day.

And in other news of me: I can haz bacon salt! Ordered it from this site: [link] because I found some other stuff there for my dad, but it really reminded me how nice it is to deal with independent sites, shipping charges and all.

I screwed up the order at first and had it shipping to my address rather than to my dad's, where I'll be over the holidays. Sent them an email, they replied right away and we decided that the easiest fix would be for them to cancel the order and for me to re-place it. And even though by this point it was way past the same day shipping cut off - like quarter to seven, I think - by the time I got home from work there was a shipping notice and tracking number in my inbox.

Amazon is great for some things, and by and large everything goes smoothly. But it's pretty rare for the big sites to elevate a transaction from smooth to actually pleasant, you know?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, I'm going to the DMV to change my address and renew my driver's license today. Because they'll send the new DL in the mail, I apparently don't have to bring anything to prove my new address. The question is, should I get a new picture, or keep the one from several years ago, when I had just lost a bunch of weight. Vanity says keep the skinny picture, but should I have an accurate one?

My guess is they won't give you a choice.

As far as I can tell from the website, I do get to pick.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That is a very large rat.

Which way gets you out of the DMV faster, Jesse?

I've been awake for over an hour, and it's still dark out. This is so very wrong, on so many levels.

Oh, that's an excellent question. We'll see when I get there.

Mmm... bacon salt. Also: Seven Deadly Sins Spices. I find them enchanting!
