Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Which way gets you out of the DMV faster, Jesse?

Oh, that's an excellent question. We'll see when I get there.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Happy Anniversary, Burrell and DH!

Happy Birthday, Am-Chau!

In other news, Teddy is back up to 8 pounds. And escaped from the crate last night while Hubs's back was turned. We had to put him back, but he should be out permanently within the next week or so.

In other other news, gronk.

Hey, remember Min? Anyone know what happened to her?

Got home last night to a book-sized package. Hooray, one of my half.com books! Whoopee! I wonder if it's the McKinley. Or the Shinn. Or the one I've forgotten what it is -- even more exciting!

...Regency romance. Really? Some mixup in the packing, and I totally understand and will get it back to them and all, but -- wanted book! Wanted BOOK! Pout.

(Also, bikkit.)

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Quick post before I run off to get dressed and leave for the new job:

Happy anniversary, Burrell and DH! How is your DH, anyway? Loving parenthood? Still pondering whether or not pancakes make a sound? Does he still have his lovely art-boy sideburns or has he moved on to more fatherly facial hair?

Happy birthday, Am-Chau!

The new job is still fairly terrifying to me, but slowly easing into "terrifying stuff I won't have any problem mastering" territory. The question of what my actual take-home pay will be still isn't settled, but I've decided not to worry about it for now, because (a) between Hec's writing assignments and his temp work, we have enough money coming in to get us through the next few months; (b) there's a performance review in April; and (c) even if the review sucks and I'm miserable, I can still go back to my old uni -- a ridiculous number of admin staff leave for a few months to a year and then come back to do the same work at much comfier salaries that they never would've been able to negotiate from within. So, I'm not fretting.

Plus, I'm only a block away from both Tu Lan and Taqueria Can-Cun, two of the most heavenly cheap eats in San Francisco.

Shallow Fashion Details (TM Jilli): I'm pretty sure the HR lady I met with yesterday is a Goth in her afterhours life. Dark cat-eye eyeliner, long black hair, black puffy-sleeved blouse, black velvet vest, black velvet bow around her neck, black jeans, intricate brocade slippers. And Alyssa from Accounting, who came up and introduced herself to me at the (free!) espresso machine, had Alice in Wonderland hair with Betty Page bangs and stripey tights. So, I think I was misinformed about the "business casual" dress code. It looks more like "semi-formal modern art gallery" so far.

Last night on the way home we were listening to the radio, and the DJ put on "Dark Side Of The Moon." When the lunatics were in the hall, chuckling and murmuring amongst themselves, Matilda started chuckling and murmuring and saying, "Whee!" She's quite possibly the funniest little human that ever was.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Awwww....

Vanity says keep the skinny picture, but should I have an accurate one?

my driver's license says that I weigh 150. I think that we all know my opinion here.
