Poor Allyson. The very first time I ever used a GPS system was when I went to LA for the F2F. It came with the rental. It was so beyond awesome. We would just take off from the hotel and drive aimlessly then click take me back and voilà nice lady guided me home. And the bestest part, when the hotel appeared she said, "you have arrived."

eta: and this brought back all the lovely LAF2F memories.

Brendon bought one for me the next Christmas because it was such fun. I'm not directionally challenged here so much because totally flat and grid like, but I still use it even locally when I go someplace different. It always gets packed when I travel.

ION, we have a cold front! I have opened the windows again. I may go for a walk tonight. Whee!

Heh. With my windows CLOSED, the last gust of wind created a noticeable draft inside. Leaky apartment. Thought even knowing it does, that I felt a draft was weird. I guess it is coming in through my beleaguered sliding door (seriously, you can pull it off the tracks) and uninsulated utility closet.

Just watched "How William Shatner Changed The World" which answered a question I was asking earlier today--what were the philosophical shifts that came with each new Trek series. I didn't expect the show to answer it--I didn't even know TiVo was recording it. But they talked about how the Pollyannaishness (which, really, I still disagree with about TOS) disappeared as soon as Rodenberry died, but the ratings also never came back.

The show was basically about how science had been inspired by various Trek things, and apparently we must credit it for cell phones and Quicktime, amongst other innovations.

Snarkishly funny they said just about nothing about Enterprise the series, just "and then things went from bad to worse" and played the needle scratching noise over its theme music.

Meow.

I think I've just about totally wasted today. I realised there's food in my freezer I need to reheat and eat so my sister can bring me more. Man, responsibility's a bitch.

Just watched almost all of The Incredibles despite it being cut to shreds by ABC Family and numerous watchings before this, including the commentary on the DVD THAT I OWN. Still a very fun film.

And of course, I didn't notice until now that Syndrome is voiced by Jason Lee of My Name is Earl -- what a different role! And Mr. Incredible is voiced by Craig T. Nelson who is presently doing a half-season as the warden on MNiE.

When it is 20° outside and one has spent the better part of the day in a ridiculously cold room, hot & sour egg flower soup is made of YUM!

Something is really wrong with me. Or society. I'm watching Survivor, and thinking how much more "model-y" some of them looked... when they were half-starved and emaciated.
