Just watched "How William Shatner Changed The World" which answered a question I was asking earlier today--what were the philosophical shifts that came with each new Trek series. I didn't expect the show to answer it--I didn't even know TiVo was recording it. But they talked about how the Pollyannaishness (which, really, I still disagree with about TOS) disappeared as soon as Rodenberry died, but the ratings also never came back.

The show was basically about how science had been inspired by various Trek things, and apparently we must credit it for cell phones and Quicktime, amongst other innovations.

Snarkishly funny they said just about nothing about Enterprise the series, just "and then things went from bad to worse" and played the needle scratching noise over its theme music.

Meow.

I think I've just about totally wasted today. I realised there's food in my freezer I need to reheat and eat so my sister can bring me more. Man, responsibility's a bitch.

Just watched almost all of The Incredibles despite it being cut to shreds by ABC Family and numerous watchings before this, including the commentary on the DVD THAT I OWN. Still a very fun film.

And of course, I didn't notice until now that Syndrome is voiced by Jason Lee of My Name is Earl -- what a different role! And Mr. Incredible is voiced by Craig T. Nelson who is presently doing a half-season as the warden on MNiE.

When it is 20° outside and one has spent the better part of the day in a ridiculously cold room, hot & sour egg flower soup is made of YUM!

Something is really wrong with me. Or society. I'm watching Survivor, and thinking how much more "model-y" some of them looked... when they were half-starved and emaciated.

Wind's roaring still and if I look into the livingroom, both cats are curled into tight, nosecovered adorable balls. I think they have the right idea. I'm gonna follow them.

I have a pet dilemma. I closed in the back yard to transition the bunny to being free and he is very happy. Trogdor still has his food and water and a comfy spot in his open cage, but he now has the whole yard to hop away and much on various weeds. Life is good for bunny. A couple of my neighbors have bunnies (cousins of mine) that are free and just eat and drink at home, but I thought a period of transition would be best.

The problem is, The Cat. Georgia ignored Trogdor while he lived in his cage, but she was tormenting him outside. I found her crouching in the bushes while bunny was hiding under the bougainvillea bush. I brought the cat back inside. She would happily lounge about inside for a couple days before itching to get outside, but she really wants out now that bunny is outside. I do not trust her. We don't want to think about finding bunny fur scattered about.

So, do I give the bunny full freedom ahead of schedule? Do I put Trogdor back in his cage when I let Georgia out to protect him? Do I make Georgia a housecat for a week whether she likes it or not? Do I let nature take its course? Having pets is almost as bad as having kids.

At least Brandy and the kitty have no interest in bunny whatsoever. Yes, we are a 4 pet family. Madness.

Many cats are big on the stalking and pouncing but not so much with the injuring or killing. Many are VERY big on the injuring and killing. It's hard to say if Georgia is one way or the other. Have you ever seen Georgia actually pounce on Trogdor?

Trogdor has always either been in his cage or in our laps. Georgia has pointedly ignored him, as cats can do. He had a larger outdoor pen when I was in NY this summer, but Georgia stayed in FL. So really she never showed any interest until he was free.

Georgia has many many kills to her credit. Birds, rats, squirrels. No bunnies! We have rabbits in the neighborhood, many related to Trogdor, and I have never seen any, um, not alive. Instinctively I think she is just messing with him, but I don't want to be wrong.

Shoot. Much bigger dilemma, then. I wish I had some good advice, but I don't. I was hoping Georgia was like my current kitty, Ashton. He stalks things but that's as far as it goes. Even if it's just a bug. He just slowly stalks it as it crawls across the living room floor.

I hope you get some good advice from someone, Laura. Much happy bunny survival~ma for Trogdor!
