And Kirk never kicked a dude into a spaceship's engine.
this. didn't have the good lines or the delivery either.
Didn't get fingerprinted much after leaving the magnet school (advantage #345 of working from home often), but I did get asked on an application to teach for a Jesuit college how I was going to bring God into the classroom. For a web design course.
That was the application where I put 'sarcastic' down as my religion. Love those Jesuits. Still got the job.
Telnet.
No wonder. Telnet's not secure.
how I was going to bring God into the classroom.
Really tough exams provoke fervent prayers for divine assistance.
No wonder. Telnet's not secure.
Exactly, I mean God is kinda insecure what with the whole, "You shall have no other gods before me" thing.
And now for something completely different: The amazing albino hedgehog
jumping in the end to ask a question that I'm not sure belongs here or not, but I need some internet savvy advice.
Got a message from Youtube:
Hi there, I recently watched your Firefly video "Love's Divine" and was very impressed. I wanted to talk to you about a new site that will go live in a few weeks, [omitted in case it's legit]. It's a growing directory of the best unofficial videos to be found for any and all films and TV shows...a resource for people wanting a concise listing of works that most professionally and creatively represent any given show. TRS is run by a group of professional film/TV editors who appreciate the work that fan videos do for commercial products (even if the studios and networks don't) as well as a couple of very experienced hobby editors.
The site is only accessible to genuine editors and fans, not to the general public, so as to avoid the increasing numbers of copyright trolls cruising for people to harass. We would really like to include your video in the listing. If you could please give us a shout at blanketyblankblank@gmail.com someone will respond with a much more detailed explanation...the full email unfortunately doesn't fit into a pm.
Keep up the good work and we hope to hear from you soon. Take care!
I sat on this unsure if it was spam or some clever scheme to sue me for thousands of dollars for all my wonderful copyright infringing, and eventually forgot all about it. Then today I received another pm through YT:
Hey...sorry, my last message might've been too long winded or spammish sounding, as someone pointed out. Really wasn't meant to be...bottom line - I love your Firefly videos and would really like to list a few of them on my site. You don't have to do anything, I'd just like your approval to link to them. If you want more info or to see the site first, that's fine too. Just let me know either way so that I'm not left hanging, was hoping to have the site finished and ready to go for this weekend :*)
And the reason I prefer email is it's more reliable than youtube, which can shut down accounts at any time (and hates me for sending too many pms). So if you're able to, please give a shout at blanketyblankblank@gmail.com and just let me know if you need more info or are okay with it, etc.
Thanks!

So, does it sound legit? The person has a YT account full of c-infringing material and several subscribers, and yet I still feel leery even about pm'ing them back, let alone emailing them.
I think they're above boards (insofar as what we're involved in can be), but I don't want to be naive and jump into something because my ego's been stroked and pay for it.
How the hell is it only Wednesday?
Someone is sneaking extra days into the week, and I don't like it.

Dude, tell me about it. I'm still at the office. Grump.
