I went to a combination brunch/tree trimming party and spent a lot of time yakking and knitting,

My weekend was working on sewing projects, going to a holiday party (and marveling at a white artificial tree decorated entirely with tea cups), and brunch on Sunday that lasted all day.
During brunch, Pete discovered that IKEA sells cupcake-pink chests of drawers, shelves, and a computer desk. He very foolishly told me. I now am plotting to re-organize and decorate my upstairs storage heap room. The only flaws in this plan are (1) my saving up for frivolous pink furniture, and (2) hypnotizing Pete so he is willing to spend hours painting black bats on the frivolous pink furniture.
Except for ita's, people's weekends sound fun. Yay.

That's what I was thinking. But first, I must make progress on organizing and clearing out that room. I made some headway over the summer, and then entropy happened again.
Entropy is a bitch, I tell you. I can't keep her outta my house.
Friday-Happy Hour, Saturday-Dinner with Mr. Jane and then the video D.J. Sunday-Football at the bar.
I will be so happy to leave here in 13 minutes and counting.
Friday, dinner with M (a rarity), then sleeping. Saturday is well-documented. Sunday, FOOTBALL!
Friday: Got Matilda from daycare, dropped her off with Hec, came back to work to try to pad out my last paycheck with some overtime.
Saturday: Treats and fun thanks to the beneficence of the lovely and talented Lee, including but not limited to: a manicure, a glass of prosecco, a TJ brand oreo, toasting the happy yay! news of K-Bug getting her first college acceptance letter, Thai food, sweet smelling and sweet tasting treats with juliana and Suzy, and Matilda perusing her first wine list (she failed to come to a decision, though, so none was ordered).
Sunday: Church, followed by Jack London Square with Emmett and Matilda and my parents. Matilda boggled at a 2-story Christmas tree and whispered, "oooooooh" into Emmett's shoulder. We met an old woman who thought Matilda was the best name in the world until she met Emmett -- her husband had been named Emmett, named after the same Irish patriot as our Emmett. I think meeting Emmett made her week.
Helped Emmett get presents for both his parents -- very nice ones, and if Hec doesn't actually like his present from Emmett more than his present from me, I will have to doubt his taste somewhat.
Today: At work, feel unmotivated and cranky, really tired of the post-baby hormonal reset that has given me a 28-day cycle instead of the 40 days I was perfectly content with previously, office air so dry my sinuses are hardening into jerky.
