I just said that you're pretty. Even when you're covered in...engine grease, you're... No, especially, especially when you're covered in engine grease.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Up high. On a small table that they can't really get up on. Because, yeah, cat hair...

because of the cats, I have become pretty good at putting the scarfs and soft hats away on a closet and keeping that door always closed.

hip deep in pie

I've surrendered the battle to cat hair. And my cats don't bother my hat/mitts/scarf otherwise.

My secret for not losing mitts, etc is to only have one on the go. For me, it's once I start swapping out hats, mitts etc, that I stop being vigilant of where they are and misplace them.

Im my house, I have a basket by my door for random crap, and a basket in my downstair closet for scarves, mitts, etc. If I hats and gloves are in my home, they're either there or in my pockets. Anywhere else and I'm doomed.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm back. And I have a snowpocalypse story.

I got to my parents' Friday night. It started freezing rain/snowing Sat. afternoon and went on all night. My Dad decided to go to both church services because they dedicated the new church organ that my dad and others had been working on for about ten years. (Most of that time was trying to figure out how to pay for it.)

Anyway, Dad goes to drive the Taurus, but gets it stuck in the middle of the driveway. So Dad then takes the 4WD pickup. Our neighbor is supposed to come plow our driveway so the rest of us can go to 10:30 service. But he doesn't show up. I try to move the Taurus but there's about 8" of dense wet snow with ice underneath, so the Taurus won't go where I steer it. Then my sister's GF, who is totally a take-charge/do-what-needs-to-be-done person, went out and shoveled the driveway by hand (there was a big mound of snow thanks to the plows on the highway) and my sister got the Taurus unstuck. Then we all piled into my sister's minivan and make it to church halfway through the service. Some amazing organist guy was there for the dedication, so we still got to listen to him.

Then - potluck! I had some old classics, like a dish of mashed potatoes, ground beef and sour kraut; and red jello with raspberries and whipped cream. Church potlucks rule!

Then my Dad took me home and then drove around the driveway in the 4WD truck so I could get my rental car out. There was some snow and rain on my drive back, but the temps stayed above freezing and I only saw one car in the ditch.

Uhg. I wore my heavy winter coat out today and now my shoulder/neck muscles are killing me from the weight. Stupid heavy-coat weather.

My mom was on a committee to hand out some grants in her district this week. She found it fun, and hard. So I had to tell her about donorchoose. I don't know if she's internet adept enough to manage it herself, but I told her to tell the other teachers about it anyway. Man, it would be cool if she hooks some of them up!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's funny, because I just now remembered to use my gift certificate! I hope I got mac's school.

Ugh. I've been battling a nasty sinus headache all day long. My entire face is aching, especially behind the bridge of my nose and under my eyes.

Jesse - you had a $100 gc? because I think the one from his school that I have been watching just went up $100.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It snowed here -- just about a half-inch, not enough to really have to shovel or anything.
