Oh, yeah. There was this time I was pinned down by this guy that played left tackle for varsity... Well, at least he used to before he was a vampire... Anyway, he had this really, really thick neck, and all I had was a little, little Exact-O knife ... You're not loving this story.

Aw, cutie Dylan!

ION, the snow falling here needs to stop now. We were promised warmer weather and rain today. There is no caffeine left in this house, and I have my choir thing this afternoon. Yesterday the snow was pretty. It is now damned inconvenient.

Punishingly Intricate

We have no snow. Just cold and gray. But at least the predicted sleet seems to be holding off for now and with any luck will stay away until after the Mayor's Christmas Parade is over.

Susan, Did you get my email on Friday?

Suzy now has a whole Mrs. Jack Welsh career.

Seriously. Her kids go to my nephew's school. They're always jetting off somewhere or another.

Well, since you wouldn't have recognized the name, I just wanted to make sure it hadn't been deleted by mistake.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So weird.

Oh, and my gloves used to live in my coat, but I took them out this spring because the coat is a convertible and I separated out the shell for rain jacket use. It's back together now, but my gloves (and glove liners and balaclava liner and hat) are somewhere indeterminate.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

In other news, I finally got the simulated elevator program that I'm working on for my class to run correctly! It probably doesn't sound all that exciting, but it's been a devil of a problem, and the code that finally works is elegantly simple compared to what's come before this. I feel like calling the instructor up to let him know.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The snow turned to rain here about an hour ago.

I've done one batch of marmalade (okay, I prepped it last night) and one batch of black currant jelly thus far this morning. At some point, I will get dressed and go make fruitcake with my mother.

I turned into Martha Stewart at some point. Not sure how that happened. Eh, it's kind of a good thing?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It snowed here, but thinly. Seabiscuit is ecstatic, both because he adores snow, but also because it rained for two solid days prior to that, and he was miserable cooped up in the apartment.

I do not have fruit to make into delicious jams or jellies. This is wrong and sadmaking.

However, there is football on and I overslept and missed church and bratwurst is on sale, so it's going to be a nice lazy at home day instead of a running around day. I call it a win.

We finally got the switchover to rain here maybe 15 minutes ago.
