Angel: Connor, this is Spike and Illyria. Guys, this is Connor. Connor: Hi. umm...I like your outfit. Illyria: Your body warms. This one is lusting after me. Connor: Oh...no, I--I--it's just that it's the outfit. I guess I've had a thing for older women. Angel: They were supposed to fix that.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

It does sound familiar. I can ping my mom -- between the bookstore and her being a US history/Civil Rights era geek, she may be able to come up with a name.

tommyrot, it wasn't what they had expected. But it wasn't all bad, either.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

That make sense - I'd tend to think racism would be much less of a problem in Soviet Russia.

When about did this take place?

I think it was the 80s.

Or 70s. No earlier than that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So years ago, I read this bio about an african american kid who had been raised in the Soviet Union. His parents had immigrated there because they thought that life would be better, less racist etc. Can any of you help me find the book again?

Blair Underwood on Dirty Sexy Money! Except (and I haven't seen this week's episode), apparently the Evil Darlings drove them out of the country or something.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wondered why you said I should watch Criminal Minds. Hmmph. I'm that predictable, huh?

Was that a typical ep? First off, HDTV and migraines may not be a good mix. But I'm assuming the visuals were slanted because of the subject matter. What about the roles played by the team? They were barely in the story. Is that normal.

That was not at all normal, ita.

Jesse, that is what prompted me to try to remember.
