I'm 17. Looking at linoleum makes me want to have sex.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

A history of home prices, adjusted for inflation. The graph seems to show that in the last ten years houses have become massively overvalued....

Hmm.

That is a big spike... but does it take into account how much "standard" has changed? Once upon a time when my Mother was growing up in Florida there was ONE house in town with a pool. One. And there was a town pool too. Now, basically, all houses have pools. Kids shared bedrooms. Houses had one bathroom and it didn't have seperate shower and tub and two sinks. Middle class housing didn't have "master suites".

I'm sure our every day luxury can't account for all of that leap, but it has to be some of it.

not your mom's socks.

Beautiful Grace pictures! Beautiful Grace. And her brother is pretty cute too, when last spotted on flickr. What a pair.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I wish I knew why I'm so tired all the time. I'm sleeping pretty well.(not waking up during the night, or at least not remembering waking up) Kind of annoying.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yay for feeling-better-Grace!

I totally love living vicariously on the house going up front! So cool.

Aww.

I am somewhat dubious about the efficacy of my various foaming and caulking and siliconing efforts, but I feel very strongly all walk the talk about them. Plus it's fun to be playing in the walls before they get all hidden behind decency and paint.

I am anxious about insulation guy coming tomorrow, because it's all supposed to happen in a day, and I'm not too clear on what, exactly, is going in. It's not the spray on foam, sadly. It's not batts of any kind, good or bad. It's not blown in cellulose. It's supposed to be blown in loose fill fiberglass. But because I think the builder is not clear on it, I'm not clear if it's the blow in blanket system with the "white" or clean fiberglass, or if it's the pink stuff, just loose instead, or what. I know it's supposed to not settle as much as loose cellulose, and it's supposed to fill in nooks and crannies better than batts, but other than that, I'm not too sure.

Anyway. I'll find out tomorrow.

The downside for us about not having to cook for Thanksgiving is not having leftovers from Thanksgiving.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am brilliant! I was sitting here thinking I wished I had some dessert (very unlike me), and I remembered that I randomly bought some pumpkin bread mix at Williams-Sonoma when I was at the mall earlier! Half-price. So that's almost ready for eating.

You'll have to tell us, Liese! I am like Kat in following your adventure. It's like This Old House, but I know the people!

I'm gonna have to get a smaller monitor, I think. This works fine but TOO BIG. Which means I'll need to order one. Apparently, few people want small monitors. Oh well. Anyway, now I know.

Can't get enough of the kid pix. Going to have to order copies of ones of me & Noah. Mom got a charge out of those.
