Grace is BEAUTIFUL.
I was missing all my favorite T'day dishes since we ate out this year and the place had no potatoes and the only cranberries were with the bread. Sunday I made our traditional cranberry salad and some crescent rolls and I have cooked up a butternut squash to make another one of our traditional sides, but I really miss having the leftovers.
When I go to my mother's for Christmas she'll make twice-baked potatoes, with cheese on top. Yum!
Huh. Maybe it's a bad idea to ride your bike without a light at night, going the wrong way down a busy street.
Looks like the kid is OK, though.
That picture of Grace just made my day.
Of course, his dad saved the day because he came over a few weeks earlier and brought canned pumpkin (which we could not find in England!)
I know! Those Brits don't understand our squash love, nor do they comprehend our cinnamon love. Good thing they have such nifty accents and lovely architecture.
At my last job I was near a Marie Callenders and went there for their turkey lunch all the time. Man, that's a tasty rote dinner. The lunch I had in the cafe here was the first time I'd added yams to it, which made the whole thing a bit too sweet for me, but it was still good.
Last night's injections at the ER were intramuscular, and I'm still sore. I think I prefer them wriggling the needle around under my skin and the concomitant bruising to the after-effects of the IM. The nurse said the glute shot she gave me was the biggest shot she's ever given anyone.
Ouch. I'm still sitting a bit lopsided.
A history of home prices, adjusted for inflation. The graph seems to show that in the last ten years houses have become massively overvalued....
Hmm.
That is a big spike... but does it take into account how much "standard" has changed? Once upon a time when my Mother was growing up in Florida there was ONE house in town with a pool. One. And there was a town pool too. Now, basically,
all
houses have pools. Kids shared bedrooms. Houses had one bathroom and it didn't have seperate shower and tub and two sinks. Middle class housing didn't have "master suites".
I'm sure our every day luxury can't account for all of that leap, but it has to be some of it.
Beautiful Grace pictures! Beautiful Grace. And her brother is pretty cute too, when last spotted on flickr. What a pair.
I've finally finished uploading all the Thanksgiving pics
