Aloha and Happy Thanksgiving from the North Shore of Oahu!
Skipping ahead to say a big thank you to the Buffistas. So much of this new direction in my life wouldn't have been possible without you. Knowing that there was intelligent discussion to be had outside academia, and a gaggle of friends awaiting me in the Bay Area, made this life-changing move so much easier. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
I have food coma. I made about a gazillion pounds of mashed potatoes. Ooops. Except there's also 8 lbs of leftover turkey, and lots of gravy. So I don't really see what the problem is.
I am also an introvert; so I've left the party and retreated home where it's entirely quiet. I have scotch and my laptop, and am happy.
just put the potatoes and gravy in the pneumatic tubes, Suela, I'll take some! I'll send you pumpkin pie in return, mmkay?
Well, I left most of the leftovers at my sister's house, but I'll head back up there tomorrow. All I took home with me was some pie for breakfast. Yum, pie.
Meara's pumpkin pie is goooooooooooooooooooooood.
Heh. And I'm looking forward to eating it for the next couple days, whee! Leftovers is my favorite part about thanksgiving.
Nice pictures, Tom!
I see you have food in NYC again... [link]
I have no more pie, but I do have left over Whole Food's mashed sweet potatoes, which are incredibly yummy.
We have so much freaking crisp left. Paul was mourning the utter lack of side dish leftovers. I think they were all out on the porch. I'm not sure.
I may have to make stuffing tomorrow or something, just to have more of a side for the turkey and cranberry. And we've got potatoes that need using up, so we can do that, too.
Heh. My plan was to make stuffing tomorrow also, Plei. I love stuffing. I even contemplated making it right now, but am watching ANTM instead. (And after ANTM is over, I think I AM going to go outlet shopping! It's insanity!)
(I think there was stuffing out on the porch, but nothing else--not sure if the rest was in the fridge)
