Dude! How gifted do you have to be to be in the gifted program?

Your Program May Vary, but IIRC, the cut off at my elementary was somewhere in the 130s, and I recall the shocked rumors that one kid who came into the class only had an IQ of 133. He didn't last long in the class. Went back to being home schooled, actually. He was kind of antisocial and from a freaky conservative household.

Agreed, but we're tuning in for Julia's storyline!

I feel that it will disappoint.

Huh. OK. I"m wondering, if 100 is supposed to be "average", at what point people are noticeably smarter/dumber than average. Hm. I mean, I'm sure to a certain extent it depends on the person and where their talents lie and how good they are at hiding dumb, or how obnoxious they are about being smart, or whatever. But.

Trust my rage

All this Nip/Tuck talk is making me glad I gave up the show.

The U.S. Military is demanding that thousands of wounded service personnel give back signing bonuses because they are unable to serve out their commitments.

This is particularly unconscionable, but this sort of thing happens a lot. The DoD has all these weird rules about what you are and are not entitled to. Most of it makes sense on paper but when it plays out in the real world, it looks really unfair. In our own case, the Army owes us $1700 that they took back incorrectly but we can't find the paperwork (the Army destroyed it after a few years) to prove them wrong. And that's with Joe and I both being (former in my case) officers, pretty good records at home, and pretty tenacious. I can't imagine fighting this battle as a recently wounded, younger soldier with less rank and experience fighting the finance system.

Is this place going to be dead already?

My coat from Lane Bryant arrived last night. It's a little too big but not too big enough to return. I have shirt in the same size that I ordered the coat in and it fits perfectly. Sizes mean nothing, especially in plus sizing. But I love it. [link]

Oh, and I was 13 minutes early for work this morning! Okay, it was only because I had an 8AM chiro appt, but still!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

HBD, Mr. flea!

I have been reminding myself that I really shouldn't try to do anything complex before food and caffeine. Of course, I have been reminding myself of this while cleaning up the results of forgetting.

Happy Birthday Mr. Flea.

Okay, Air Canada is having 50% off today. I can get a flight home for Xmas for reasonably cheap ($99 each way, which trust me, is cheap for flights home), but my supervisor isn't here to okay my days off. I should just book it and see if it's okay later, right?
