Kaylee: You're nice, too. Mal: No, I'm not. I'm a mean old man.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ooooh, beth! Such pretty grain on the wood of that, that's real art for sure.

I have old-fashioned radiators, but I don't drink tea or coffee, so not useful, especially as Chumley likes to use them for belly-warmers anyway.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We still don't have phone or TV service here, so I have introduced my visiting mom to QI on You Tube, and she loves it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Do any Buffistas have old fashioned radiators? If so, one of you must get one of these.

Want! I'll take 3. One for each radiator.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That makes me want radiators, it's so perfect.

I have accomplished not one-tenth of what I wanted to do, but a couple things I needed to do. Off to read some fic and go to bed. Tomorrow is another day. Though sometimes that old adage is not so much comforting as intimidating.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Stephen Fry says that Houdini could pick up pins with his eyelashes and thread a needle with his toes.

Edit: And that semen can be used as invisible ink.

You're twice as likely to see a tornado in Britain than in the U.S.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

But fewer mobile homes, so not as much publicity

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You're twice as likely to see a tornado in Britain than in the U.S.

That's because here in the US, tornadoes mostly come at night. Mostly.

OK, I made that up. Anyway, I thought the US central plains was tornado capital of the world. Oh well.

meara - Nov 17, 2007 6:42:03 pm PST #2870 of 10001

Seriously?? More tornadoes in Britain?? Why do we never hear about them? Do they do as much damage? Are there more hard-core tornadoes in the US, or have we just been brainwashed?

[edit: or is it just "in all of america" vs "all of britain", where we figure that alaska and hawaii and so on don't have a lot of tornadoes, but if we compare "tornadoey parts of britain" vs "great plains", it's def great plains?]
