I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

One way to avoid the clothing crisis - work in your bathrobe.

For as much as I complain about my job, I do like that I can work from home when needed.

At the moment I'm in my robe, under a comfy blanket, with hot tea and some dried fruit, tapping away. I have 3 hours of productive work under my belt already today.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sad and awful way to go, but shouldn't there be check-in procedures in place any time someone skydives? Like, serious ones?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OK, I'm off to be dentified. Wish me teeth-ma....

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Don't you just love it when you make sartorial decisions in the early morning that turn out to be less-than-wise in the cold light of day?

A co-worker caught me doing a shoe-check while walking down the hall this morning. As in, pausing and lifting my pant legs to make sure I had matching shoes on. Which I did, for the record.

Punishingly Intricate

I still can't quite grasp height without the t sound.

Me neither!

I think I think "off-en" but say "of-ten"

weirdo!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I still can't quite grasp height without the t sound.

I was originally thinking of it WITH the "th" sound and said it badly.

Also, no day off sucks and is unamerican.

Wordy McWordia.

I'm at work today, too, but I'm good with that since all the no-long-weekends this fall lead to a full week off next week for Thanksgiving.

Snarl

Actually, I didn't even realize until about an hour ago that ordinarily I would have it off. I'm just grumpy because I am so. damn. tired and there's really nothing to do for it. I showed movies Friday, so today they really have to be working.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

This weekend I changed over my closets for winter. Today I was reminded that this wool sweater has a hole in it. Maybe for the second winter in a row. Bon needs to get herself a second brown sweater.

At least I'm wearing purple tights, though I'm not budging from the portable heater.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

For lunch today, I'm having the Au Bon Pain version of grilled cheese sammich and tomato soup -- tomato bisque soup and a cheese "bagel." Yum. Although I'd still rather be at home!

Happy Birthday, Jessica!!!

Today, it's already 60+ degrees here, so I pulled out one of my summer t-shirts to wear to work. Now, I'm really confused as to what coat I should bring with to New Jersey next week. I'll probably split the difference and bring my trench coat with the zip-out lining.

I'm taking a 1/2 day off tomorrow to get together with Dad and pick up some stuff he wants me to take out to my brother's next week, so between that and leaving for the coast on Friday, I only have to work 3 1/2 days. Not too bad!
