Lily is a beautiful child and so camera-happy, thank goodness!
wow, I get hung up on stupid details.
Sound in space, Kat, sound in space.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

yes. I know. Everyone has the things they get hung up on.
Well the snow probably won't last past tomorrow.
Oh, phew. I was afraid this was the beginning of Canadian Winter.
Kat, you don't want to know how much time I spend thinking about the financial situations of the characters on How I Met Your Mother.
Kat, I've lost touch of how many Regency romances I've flung at the wall for botching the dates of the Peninsular War, putting rifles in the hands of soldiers who would've carried muskets, calling Wellington Wellington before he was granted that title, etc.
eta: That was rueful agreement.
It's just funny to me how, depending on your field of experience, there are so many buttons. Given all that's available on google or whatever, just about everyone still gets basics horribly wrong, and not even in the pursuit of the narrative. Just...they don't think to ask, I guess.
And to add to that, what prompted my "sound in space" lament was that I recently saw a NASA produced video on the latest rocket. And they had sound in space. Everyone in the room started muttering.
I just read a book written by someone who lives in NYC, which was absolutely ridiculous wrt the city, and I don't understand it. It was stuff that had no real impact on the story, other than throwing me out of it.
You should hear me whenever there's anything about nuclear anything. It's physics, people, not voodoo. I like 24, but I had to stop watching it during the nuclear bomb plot. What with the yelling and the throwing things, my television was in danger.
This week's Numb3rs involved MMORPGs. Anyone here play one? I think it's kinda odd that the only people I know who do that are people I met offline. Given the size of my online social circle.
Had to explain online socialising to my therapist today, to make sure she didn't think I was a basement dweller. I might very well buy her a copy of Allyson's book. She says the only time the internet comes up for her professionally is when it's getting in the way of someone's life or relationships. I explained Allyson hosting me, and Random Acts of Paypal.
One day that shit will come up on TV.
As for things that bug--an episode of The Unit a few weeks ago had what looked like thematic consistency in a particular combat move, but the third time it was done differently than the first two--life and death differently. Irritating. Obviously not one of the shows where we have someone on set.
As for the ER stuff, well, I pretend I'm not obsessing about it. Which reminds me, I have most of an ep of that waiting to be watched...
I was pretty close to giving up on this week's Chuck as I was watchig it last night, when they had a shot of a Stanford ID and then an aerial view of the Stanford campus, and they were both actually the real thing. It's such a small thing, but it was enough to keep me watching.
