when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

Sorry, I took notes while watching again. (was actually maybe going to make it for the actual WnP, but then ended up working late. Silly labwork.)

I love Inara's teeny pink girly drink. Almost surprising that the barkeep in that seedy poolhall actually had the ingredients to make one.

Speaking of seedy poolhalls, another bar fight! Whee!

I love the background lights / whooshing during the scene with Badger--it really gives the setting atmosphere as some corner near a spaceport or something.

The costumes at the ball are an interesting mix. The commentary talks about that a little--that she dressed Atherton in an Indian collar. The guy who takes the gun looks Turkish to me.

I could go either way on whether Kaywinnit Lee is Kaylee's full name or if she fancied it up for the party and being undercover. I can see her being all, I get a fancy dress, and to be someone I'm not, whee! But I do lean slightly toward it being her actual name, because it just seems to fit with the universe. (and it's an interesting name, but I'm not sure I see her wanting to go around as Kaywinnit.)

Mal knows what colour Inara's wearing?? Did he hang out in her shuttle while she packed for the weekend? (actually, now that I think of it, it's likely that Inara was the first thing he noticed upon entering the room.)

Miss Persephone Pageant -- hee!

...Hey, maybe River's cooking them a snack!

The word "Lordhood" grates on me every time I watch this episode. Why not "lordship"?

An insult to the psychotic lowlife community--hee! (I decided to restrain myself from assembling a quote list, because I adore maybe 80% of all the lines spoken in this episode.)

I want to learn that dance that Mal and Iara do. I am completely addicted to English Country dancing! (However, I have to keep my dancer side from watching the extras too closely, because their ballroom dancing is just painful.)

"Sw--what?" I love Nathan's delivery of that.

River transforms herself in front of Badger. And so does Summer--she's such a big damn star.

...I just can't get over how beautiful Morena is. (so, so very thankful they didn't stay with Rebecca Gayheart.)

After I took a fencing class a few years ago, I gained an entirely different outloook on this episode.

In conclusion, I love how Mal is a total wimp. "Are you in pain?" "Absolutely!"

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

The Lordhood thing always bugs me too.

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

Agreed. That any place rough enough for them to talk to slave traders would have teeny tiny pink drink makin materials.
I could go either way on whether Kaywinnit Lee is Kaylee's full name or if she fancied it up for the party and being undercover.
Eh I'd never considered that it could be a false name. It'd make sense though. I also agree on Morena as Inara. Noone else could do the character justice.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I don't actually know where to put this.. Ron Glass told the Browncoat Cruise thing a few Book spoilers. But I'm not sure if I should put it in Spoilers (as it's not a TV show any more) or here or the comics topic (as I strongly suspect they're from the upcoming comics).

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

here or the comics thread would work but it should be whitefonted either way, I think.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

If it hasn't aired, it's a spoiler still I think, current airing notwithstanding. So I'd say not here.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

But since it won't ever air (Damn you, Fox!), why not put it here?

Is anyone else planning to be here for "Safe" on Wednesday?
