I know P-C is actually at SDCC, but I have no idea if he went to Firefly panel. (I remember him posting on Facebook about having to choose because a lot of things he wanted to go to were conflicting, but I don't remember what he decided to actually go to.)
Firefly 5: That's my girl... That's my good girl.
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe.
Maybe Bleeding Cool got entirely the wrong lesson from the whole CNN Supreme Court fiasco.
Considering my Twitter feed isn't exploding with news of it from various geek sources, I'm even more inclined to think it's an untruth.
“The opening sequence is a conversation between Wash and Book" sounds to me like one of those not-at-all serious things Joss says.
I was at the panel. There was no talk of a reboot at all.
Morena is on Homeland. i have to say i was a little disappointed more of the cast wasn't there.
Thanks for the clarification, P-C. Sounds like Bleeding Cool really did pull a CNN.
Maybe they meant the fact that Joss and Zack may start doing actual continuation comics.
tiggy, I met your friend Brigit after the io9 panel!
Why do people do this? Why did someone say something that the reporter would have thought meant there was a reboot? I don't believe this stuff was an "honest mistake" most of the time. I do believe someone malicious wanted to fool a news source and fans.
But that might be because I'm angry about the times it happens, and it's really often a situation of [ethnic] telephone.
Aha! There was a closed door Q&A, apparently--according to IO9, there was an "if you could ever do a sequel question" which Joss answered with the intricate Wash-Book flashback scenario.
People are stupid.
I hope they enjoyed their increased page views and decreased trustworthiness as a result of printing every hint that flashed across their range of vision.
