"The Message" was one of three episodes that never aired, but I don't think it was ever intended as a season (or series) finale.
I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

Didn't they say that they got the word about cancellation when they had nearly finished filming the Message? I seem to recall something about the music being specially composed...and it very well could be that I dreamt that.

I remember a comment from Edmondson to that effect--maybe on commentary, or in an interview. But I do remember him saying he was composing music for Tracy's funeral, but it felt like--and not just to him--that it was a dirge for the series.

Me too. Took me a few minutes to figure out what I had done last week to be able to see both browser window and dvd player window at the same time, but it's done, and I don't have to worry about technical difficulties this time (knock on wood).
