I had a couple of friends who thought it was very good, but not for them. One is a friend in his 80s who rarely watches tv, and another was, I think, bothered by the darkness. Although, she liked it, just not enough to watch the whole thing.

So I'm at my new job, in the break room playing with my brand new Apple laptop. And two co-workers walk in from opposite doors within 45 seconds or so of each other, and both make a "shiny" reference to the new computer. I say something along the lines of "does this mean we are all Firefly fans" Sure enough! Ya, that's a good sign of new work place.

ION, I'm moved in enough now to bring this up again. I've waited, cuz I couldn't do it while moving. But my stuff is here, and I got a shiny new big screen TV. So! WnP for the movie anytime soon?

I'm free Saturday.

Yikes! Saturday looks like DJ & HubbyJane and I will be heading to see Dark Knight IMAX! Unless it was like 2ish board time? That would be well before the movie. Then I'm just waiting for the couch to arrive.

Is this week too soon? Would we want a bit more time to post in Sunnydale and get as much of a group as we can?

Unfortunately, I'm attending a funeral on Saturday.

It's for the mother of one of my oldest friends. We've known each other since the beginning of high school, and have known each other over half our lives, which means we've spent most of those years running in and out of each others' houses, beginning with our parents' houses and then our first apartments and on to her house with her husband and two little boys. So yes, I knew her mother and had more than a few meals and evenings with her as well. She'd been sick a long time, but one of the things that hits particularly hard here is that the one finishing blow, so to speak, wasn't the various cancers she'd been battling but that she'd made the decision to stop kidney dialysis, and that 11 years ago I lost my father to end-stage renal failure after he stopped dialysis. So I knew what my friend, and her mother, were experiencing as they were waiting out the final days, and there was just not a whole lot I could do for them other than offer support. But I spoke with her for a while this evening, and the family seems as at peace as they can be, given the circumstances.

But thank you for your kind words. If you guys decide to have the watch and post this weekend, have fun, and if not, I'll try to join in when you do put it together.

I really want to participate but this weekend isn't good. If we were to plan for NEXT weekend, I'd be all over it.

I can put in a request for next weekend. Which day is best?
