Are you saying you're also not running a secret illegal cross-country road race?

Firefly 5: That's my girl... That's my good girl.
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe.
I decline to answer that question on the grounds that I may incriminate myself.
Oh, I haven't heard that phrase in almost a year! I need to come up with a Drive drinking game and dig out the DVD sometime, that phrase is definitely going in there.
Where is/was the crazy??? I need to get a blackberry... stat!
Ha! Seems Woot.com might be a Firefly fan. In tonights Woot-off, they have a 2006 Mac Mini, and the start of the description is as follows:
If there is one thing which will turn a casual internet conversation into an oily black sludge faster than the sentence “Firefly was cancelled for a reason”, it’s the question “Which is better, Mac or PC”? On the one hand, the PC has so many games, freeware applications, hardware options and ways to emulate other platforms. On the other hand, the answer is Mac. That’s why we’ve got these Apple Mac Minis from late 2006.
“Firefly was cancelled for a reason”
I'm not quite sure I get it. Is the argument supposed to be over the specific reason or that there is a reason? Is there conspiracy mongering about WHY Firefly was cancelled? And do I really want to know the answer to that question?
And do I really want to know the answer to that question?I take that to mean, some chucklehead with no imagination who didn't like the show implying it was such crap that it deserved to be cancelled.
Them's fightin' words.
Oh, there's a rather large topic on Fireflyfans.net which claims Firefly was cancelled by the Bush administration via Rupert Murdoch via FOX, because they felt it would lead to an uprising. Because it tells the truth about governments. Or something.
Sadly, I'm not joking.
Wow. The internet craxy is infinite, isn't it? Also, @@4EVAH!
Granted, I should have known that after all that yesterday about the woman who's on to Joss' raping ways.
eta And let me guess - Fox greenlit the series so no other network would get it, where it would have been an inevitable smash hit.
The general consensus on the side of the even halfway sane seems to be bungling and interference by Fox network. It was a group effort between the network and their advertising.
I guess some people can't stand believing such a good thing can be taken down by mundane reasons.
Or Mundanes. Or Muggles.
