I'm trying to recall any actual zombie movies that I've seen... let's see, when I was in college I was drug to a screening of that first Romero film, whichever "... of the Dead" movie that was. The black and white one, where they were all holed up in a farmhouse, and the only survivor was a black man who got killed in the end anyway. And I saw parts of "28 Days" on tv, so I assume some of the gorier parts got cut out. Mostly I remember how freaking fast those zombies moved.
'War Stories'
Firefly 5: That's my girl... That's my good girl.
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe.
Slither is "sorta" zombie-ish. But yet again more with the funny. And it's got the Sheriff from Paradiso (in the Train Job ep) playing the town Mayor! That's a win-win situation.
Well, if we did it as a WnP you could at least warn us when the gross bits were about to occur, and I could look away. I go by the noise theory when I'm watching in theaters, and just don't look back at the screen until the sounds stop; I can just stare at my monitor here at home.
Sorry I missed you guys tonight. It was my last chance to see my little sweetie pie (A, 14 months) for two weeks, so I had to take it. I meant to remind AnotherAlaskan. I suppose he might have remembered on his own.
Sounds good to me. I'm pretty sure the others could be an easy sell. If we announce it ahead enough people can either get it from Netflix or buy it or whatever.
It's ok lk, 's why we held off. Next week works just fine by me.
I'll probably miss next week too, unless my flight is late and there's free internet in the airport.
Make it if you can and please hassle AA to get in here as well.
Truth is, I really don't enjoy watching The Message but if you all need me here next week to watch it I will try to make it.
There are some episodes I like less than others, but they each have their own moments of excellence.
The Message reminds me too much of all my favorite cancelled shows. It's just as good as any episode of Firefly, but the knowledge that as they were filming they already knew they were cancelled breaks me.
