You know, I know we're all supposed to go "Awwwww," and feel how adorable Kaylee is, but mostly I feel irritated at how much she doesn't help at all in this situation. She doesn't provide backup, she just stands there and provides a target.

You know, when River shoots the folks, I never noticed how nervous and scared she was at first. She kind of morphed after the shots were over and she opened her eyes. If it weren't for that morph, I think Kaylee might have been impressed instead of freaked.

It's another easy punchline, which is frustrating. Simon takes more jokes at his expense, but others handle it better when it happens to them (take Wash shortly after), so I think that's why Simon is such an easy target.
