Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Merry christmas!!

My Secret Santa present came today! There was a knock at the door and I thought it was my dad, but no! It was the mail man. With a package from Amy! Full of wonderful purple and dragonfly things and cookies. (more details in Good Riddance). And a mix CD, which I'm playing right now and IFG.

I was on the phone with my brother who gave me the best news -- they're having a baby!!!! She's due in August. I'm going to be an aunt.

Now I really do have to learn to crochet something cool. Oh, and it's so awesome because my parents will be retired by then and can travel up to see them.

I'm going to be Aunt Ali!!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Congratulations, Ali!

Our wings are not tired.

Merry Christmas all!

Yay Auntie Ali!

Longer days are a good thing. Bring 'em on.

14-15 or something expected for dinner. My house is still a disaster. One of these years I will be ready in time. The dust bunnies may not be gone before the crowd arrives, but the food is yummy. I'm drinking wine before I start on cleaning the dining room.

I actually got to sleep in the morning. Incredible. But then CJ couldn't stand it anymore.

So, prezzies have been opened, Christmas breakfast has been consumed. The living room is still a disaster zone of boxes and wrapping paper and goodies everywhere. Electronic gear is charging at outlets throughout the house. K-But got her own digital camera. CJ got a portable DVD player.

The cat got a laser pointer - or I should say we got a laser pointer with which to torture the cat. Torture has commenced to much hilarity.

Thrive to spite them

Xmas lunch was consumed. I'm going to be making something cobbled together for dinner.

Mom, Dad, andI got to tell everyone at the family dinner about the newest family member. There were some mixed reactions since my brother & FSIL aren't married yet.But they'll be married on the 6th and if they'd gone by their original plan they'd have been married in the summer.

Now I'm looking through baby stuff at Etsy and baby websites. Thinking about all the ways that I'm going to spoil the new sprog.

Mom's a little worried about them flying to Hawaii for their wedding and honey moon and then some traveling they will be doing for their business. But I'm sure they will be fine. The other worry is that since they both are self employed they don't have insurance, but they've already looked at the options and are applying for various things.

I've been dancing around all excited.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

We just got back from seeing Sweeney Todd. My mother thought I laughed at the wrong times. I'm pondering wearing Mrs. Lovett hair to dinner -- if I do, my sister will probably pretend she doesn't know me. (My hair is being extra-frizzy today. I figure, might as well work with it.)
