Jeez, don't get all Movie of the Week. I was just too cheap to buy you a real present.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired

I'm home from my most beloved Christmas Tradition. Christmas Eve at Joe and Andy's Hole in the Wall, a total dive bar in La Mesa that I've been hitting every Christmas eve for probably at least a decade now.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I have three things I would like to do before she gets home in an hour or so. I'm having a hard time prioritizing.

While I was driving home from work, I got this feeling that there would be some mutual guilt that we just have not accomplished much in the way of holiday preparation this year. And I thought, "What really matters is that we are here together. Any Christmas-y thing we get done is a bonus."

Geez, I sound like made-for-tv movie.

But that's how I feel.

And so, when I got home and found my cat asleep on top of my man, dishes soaking in the sink, and the box of decorations down from the closet but not put up, I was very happy. And said so.

Merry Christmas Christmas-celebrating-Bitches! Happy Day all Bitches!

Congratulations on your continued time with the living, ND!

Aww, Andi. Just, awww.

Olympia is a small town: no Chinese restaurants are open tomorrow in the greater Olympia area, which is why we bought it tonight.

There are no restaurants open in Juneau today, with the possible exception of McDonalds. My friend checked with every non-fast food restaurant in town. Surprised the heck out of me. I thought it would be like Thanksgiving, where at least several of the big(ish) restaurants put on big dinners and one smaller one sells pre-cooked dinners for 8 or 12.

Must go to bed so I can get up, um, soon. Not sleepy. I have a feeling I'm going to regret this later.

move out and draw fire

libkitty said it nicely, so I'll repeat:

Merry Christmas Christmas-celebrating-Bitches! Happy Day all Bitches!

I can't believe it's already (past) solstice. I did not have my issues this year of "OMGMustHaveSunSoon!" I kept thinking "Hey whoa, I guess the days are getting short" but that was it. Still, longer days = good.

Of course, today is turning into The Grinchester Who Stole Christmas, so I'm off to go try to spread joy and cheer in the house. If that fails I'll be back.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Merry Christmas

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We had our usual loud, too much food Christmas Eve at Mom's last night. Today we opened our presents and are trying to get ourselves together to go to TCG's dad's house in a little while.

All is well that ends in pizza.

NPR told me last week that the days start getting longer a couple of days before the solstice this year, due to the eccentricity of the earth's orbit.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think the deal is that the sun starts rising earlier a few days before the solstice. Or maybe it starts setting later a few days before the solstice. But not both, as the solstice is still the shortest day....
