Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I don't know why I'm up in the middle of the night, what with the no school and no work should equal no stress and easy sleeping, but here I am. I got an A- in my other class - the one with the crazy tough professor. I'm feeling pretty good about myself at the moment.

e_o, did you get the dental repair stuff from the drugstore? I've had pretty good luck with the epoxy-like stuff.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

OK that was way more than you asked. See what happens when you get me started?

But not more than we wanted to know. Fascinating.

Speaking of horses, I just sat down to edit a dvd from my vacation and I'm bummed because it's apparently in the disc drive of the computer I *didn't* bring with me. But since we're talking horses, I'll tell the story anyhoo. We did one of those excusion thingies and with this one you started out at an old plantation up in the hills, rode down through the woods and fields, and finally came out on the beach. Whereupon we got to take the horses out and go racing through the sea, then we dismounted and swam around with them for a while. It was so freaking cool.

But one of the neatest parts was this: in the brochure, this company had made a big point about their well loved and cared for horses, which is part of why we chose this one over some other outfits. And it was really clear, watching the guides interact with them and chatting with them about their names and personalities and idiosyncrasies, and watching the way the horses behaved, that that wasn't blowing smoke. We were talking on the way home about how that really made the whole thing even better.

But they didn't really tell us the whole story. Come to find out after we get home, most of their horses are rescue horses, coming off the track or from abusive situations and stuff. [link] Some of the horses mentioned here were on our ride, like Peanut and Peacekeeper (who breaks up fights! for reals!).

Anyhoo, it was really amazing, and even more special now. Film at eleven when I get my shit together.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

That's amazing! I'm almost positive I took that ride on my honeymoon. I think things have changed a bit (or my memory has faded) since 1994 but we started at a plantation and made our way down to the beach. Somewhere I have pictures. With my hair in cornrows. Yeah maybe I won't go looking for those.

Cool, thank you, beloved Hecubus. I just left you a message on your cell, and I'm very glad this means S and I get to see you, even if it's just for a very short while.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Tried "DenTemp" brand of temporary dental fillings/crown repair glue putty stuff, but eight attempted applications all fell off within seconds.

Any suggestions on brands that actually work?

I've used that kind before, e_o. Your break may be such that it's just not holding. The trick, if there is one, is to mix the epoxy stuff then roll it into little balls and pushing them into the gap one at a time. It helps if you do your best to get the area dry.

I feel for you. Teeth have a terrible sense of timing.

Vino advice, please.

I want to buy a bottle of red wine for my father, but I am a wine idiot. I need something low-moderately priced that isn't gross.

Ideas?
