Hello all. I'm posting from CarMax. Why? Because ND made the unfortunate discovery that a used Honda hybrid with HOV stickers costs roughly the same as a low-mileage Mercedes C-class sedan. He's like a kid in a candy shop right now. I have a feeling we may not be an all-hybrid family much longer.
Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
You're selling the hybrid, Kristin?
Yeek, Erin! Scary! Glad you made it through in one piece!
You have now seriously re-affirmed my plan NOT to rent a car when I visit Maryland next month. (Lived in San Diego all my life, have never driven in weather worse than hail, figure streets and highways that I'm not familiar with is not the place to learn).
Oh, so by the way, B'more-istas and DC-istas, I'll be flying into B'more on the 16th, out on the 22nd. I'm staying with a friend in Pasadena, MD, but have high hopes (and amorphous plans) for Baltimore and DC visits! I'll x-post this to Beep Me and start hanging around in F2F.
ChiKat! Big Hugs! Good to "see" you!
Laga, sounds like a cool job. Have you thought of trying to get back into it now that you live somewhere that doesn't go below 30, like ever?
Plane-ma, meara!
I am not selling my hybrid, but he may be selling his. He doesn't need a SUV anymore since he has the truck.
I am home and I am safe and it is STILL SNOWING. Like, 6 inches since noon.
OMG erin! I had no idea you lived in St. Jo. I can't belive you came so close to that! It's all the news stations here in KC are talking about!
We have smaller ice balls here in mid-town KC, but I don't think it's over yet. My lights keep flickering!
Have you thought of trying to get back into it now
I moved out here to be near my family. The closest place that rents carriages is not very close. Plus at the movie theatre I have a 401k plus dental/vision. I miss the horsies but it's just not a practical career choice.

I thought something like that might be the case. Bummer - stupid adult responsibilities, they're no fun!
My folks live in St. Jo; my sister was here last night and sinceI am carless, was bringing me home for the holiday.
It's ridiculous how much snow is here. It was totally fine this morning, and now it's covered. I haven't seen this much snow fall at once since I was little. And I'm 35.
Sonus, I remember the Great Ice Storm of Ought Two. It was awful.
There was one wintery mix storm I enjoyed, when I was headed back to college after Christmas break. The whole fam was driving me up, and as soon as we got to my dorm room my roommate looked at me and said, "Call Joe, he's going nuts because you haven't gotten here yet and he thinks you're in a ditch dead."
This was gratifying to my young self, because my mother had a sour, disapproving look on her face. She'd been telling me all break that I couldn't trust guys because they were only after one thing.
It would be polite to not mention that it is 71F at about 8pm with the promise of a dip into the 60s tonight. But I just can't help myself.
I do not miss any winter mix except the joy of turning off the A/C and opening the windows.
Driving in that stuff scares me something awful. I feel so bad for truck drivers having to deal with people that think they can stop on a dime in slush.
Eeep. Had enough of Christmas movies and am watching Doctor Who and Torchwood instead. Thinking about making sauce for the lasagna I'll be making.
