yay for discharging!
I got into work just fine and I am in such a chipper mood I am suspicious of myself. I think I'm backlashing/boomeranging from my excessive morosity earlier in the week. Almost a manic cheeriness.
Mal ,'Safe'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You're just saying that because of the crazy, manic look in your eyes, Nora....
Right on!
So, while I've been here in San Fran (oh, you don't like that.... It's "The City"....), I could not help but notice that the SF Examiner has been running every day's paper with a sub-masthead showing a picture of something from the Twelve Days of Christmas song, and a quote of the attending line of the song.
The problem is, of course, that they are doing this to count down to Christmas, which is, in every possible way, wrong. Whoever came up with this idea at the examiner needs to have their head caved in with a wikipedia entry for the twelve days of Christmas, printed out and wrapped around a very large brick.
Or perhaps I am just cranky, for vague and nebulous reasons.
cranky, for vague and nebulous reasons
Or pretty specific ones, actually.
Go get 'em Sean!

Channel it into the holidays, Nora. Use your powers for good.
Oh, who am I kidding.
Great news, Sean!!! I hope the next stage is less meltdown-y for both of you.
Little Boss (who is leaving in January. ::sob::) just got me the sweetest gift.
The other day I gave him a book he had mentioned a few months ago. (Stillborn God by Mark Lilla). In the course of talking about it I mentioned that a) I nearly kept it and b) another book I had seen (Wikinomics).
Today he gives me a B&N gift card AND Wikinomics with something sweet written in it.
You know, he really could have just stuck with the honkin big gift card but, no, he's all thoughtful and stuff. Now he's walking around giving out gift cards to various other folks. He's just so dear.
Man am I going to miss him.

Oh, if you did this, it would give me great joy. It annoys me to no end when people think it's a half-assed Advent thing.
By the way, Yay! on S getting out of the hospital! ~ma continues for her and you.
windsparrow - smart is better than hat anyday, IMHO.Heh heh heh. Thanks, Sox. I shall endeavor to keep it up, then.
um, could it have been "I slipped in front of your house!"
Huh. Hadn't thought of that, but very possible. Our front porch is rather icy. (Someone was supposed to be picking up a back of clothes and stuff that we were donating to the Vietnam Vets organization.)
Timelies, everybody!
Sean, that's awesome to hear! Safe, comfortable travel home-ma.
