Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Amy, I'd love to send it to you. I can save my sanity and ship it (and all of the stuff) when I get back from the East Coast. I think you and Sarah can have a lot of fun with it!

ita, pretty funny you should mention the "simple" mending thing, since that's what I said, and ended up with all of this stuff!

Just the other night, I used a travel sewing kit to mend the couch pillows that tore when the labels were pulled off. A sewing machine for me was overkill.

Because books.

Just let me know what the shipping is!

Are you on the East Coast now? Or coming for the holidays? Are you heading to Philly?

Mostly lurking...

May I recommend that you ship that sewing machine via UPS? It's SO much cheaper than the post office, if I remember from when Raq sent me her's.

It's funny you should say that, vw! My dad had to send me something and discovered the same thing. UPS was MILES cheaper than the post office, although I think in the end it was, oddly, FedEx that wound up being cheapest for two-day.

Excellent point, VW. I shall ship UPS. Amy, I'll let you know the shipping cost. Though in trade I will probably demand a signed copy of Room Service or something. ;)

Not on the East Coast yet. I am meeting Steven's family, and they live in Salisbury, MD (they all re-located from Philly about 10 years ago when his brother in law moved his ob/gym practice out of Philly). So I am flying into Dulles on the 23rd, and we fly back together on the 1st. Most of the time will be spent in Salisbury, but we're going to spend a "romantic" weekend in DC before heading home. He left this morning for MD to be there for his sister's surprise 60th birthday tonight!

ETA: Steven and I did visit Philly last month, though, for a short vacation. See me here in front of Independence Hall!

I know where Salisbury is! Have a good trip, babe. And just let me know when you're sending, and we'll work out details. ::smooches you::

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

his sister's surprise 60th birthday tonight!

She doesn't know she's turning 60? That will be startling...

Heh.

I have this bagful of clothes that I'm shamed to pay someone to mend, and I could technically mend most of it by hand since I was raised nice and parochially and had to sew and embroider for credit, both machine and by hand.

Mostly I'm just lazy--if I don't iron my clothes regularly why pretend I'm going to fix the hems? I need a maid, and will never have one.

BOOK: "River..? Please, why don't you come on out..." RIVER: "No. Can't. Too much hair." - 'Jaynestown'

Yay! Dinnertime. I have only one more performance of that Dickens Holiday Play before it's time to head up to ND & KT's XXXmas party!! Very much looking forward to it!

(Mental note: Take it easy on the punch this year.)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I thought that punch was retired. It really oughtta be. Or passed on to someone who is still in college.
