Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Job ~ to GCGF.

Yay Suzi! This was not such an easy thing to accomplish with all you have on your plate. You should be very proud of yourself.

I'm cooking burgers on the grill and eating Cape Cod Robust Russet chips while waiting. There is also Mac 'n Cheese and red wine. When I take time off the diet I do it right.

Watching Scrooge for the 3rd time this week. DH can't get enough.

Oh Meara, I'd be sooooo good to you, don't worry....um...I mean, never mind.

Don't you know there was more than one person thinking that very same thing!

Because books.

Java, if no one local wants the sewing machine, I would happily send you shipping costs. I've been wanting a sewing machine for ages, and to learn to sew.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, if I were localler, I'd be trying to be all over that sewing machine. But what I need in truth...or, well, want is something pretty simple for mending, alteration, and maybe simple sewing only. So no point.

Meara, I'm too femme for you. It just wouldn't work. Be strong.

Amy, I'd love to send it to you. I can save my sanity and ship it (and all of the stuff) when I get back from the East Coast. I think you and Sarah can have a lot of fun with it!

ita, pretty funny you should mention the "simple" mending thing, since that's what I said, and ended up with all of this stuff!

Just the other night, I used a travel sewing kit to mend the couch pillows that tore when the labels were pulled off. A sewing machine for me was overkill.

Because books.

Just let me know what the shipping is!

Are you on the East Coast now? Or coming for the holidays? Are you heading to Philly?

Mostly lurking...

May I recommend that you ship that sewing machine via UPS? It's SO much cheaper than the post office, if I remember from when Raq sent me her's.

It's funny you should say that, vw! My dad had to send me something and discovered the same thing. UPS was MILES cheaper than the post office, although I think in the end it was, oddly, FedEx that wound up being cheapest for two-day.

Excellent point, VW. I shall ship UPS. Amy, I'll let you know the shipping cost. Though in trade I will probably demand a signed copy of Room Service or something. ;)

Not on the East Coast yet. I am meeting Steven's family, and they live in Salisbury, MD (they all re-located from Philly about 10 years ago when his brother in law moved his ob/gym practice out of Philly). So I am flying into Dulles on the 23rd, and we fly back together on the 1st. Most of the time will be spent in Salisbury, but we're going to spend a "romantic" weekend in DC before heading home. He left this morning for MD to be there for his sister's surprise 60th birthday tonight!

ETA: Steven and I did visit Philly last month, though, for a short vacation. See me here in front of Independence Hall!
