Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I was just taking off my socks, and got a whiff of my feet. Then spent nearly ten minutes sniffing my feet because they smell *delicious*. Sweet, with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla. I don't use scented body lotion, and this is kinda wierding me out. But yet....*sniff* yummy! Should i be concerned?

Now tagless for your comfort.

pretty sure it's illegal to possess an unlicensed handgun, maybe not in every state?

Owners are licensed, guns are not. It's not illegal to possess a gun in your home but carrying it around or using it, the rules can vary greatly. Does the friend have a license to carry a handgun? He can always ask the police that he was given the gun by his roommate and ask to have the serial number on the gun checked--making sure that it hasn't been used in a crime. If the serial number is clean, then he won't lose the gun.

Trust my rage

Cash, I was just coming here to say almost exactly that. In general, there are no restrictions on selling guns from one person to another (a private sale). Gun shop owners must check who they are selling to, but not private persons.

eta: I once worked for a woman who was driving from Seattle to Texas and wanted to carry a handgun with her so she had me register the concealed carry laws in all the states along her route.

Stephanie, a friend of my dad's once had his handgun confiscated because he failed to do just that.

If I were ever to obtain a handgun without knowing its provenance, I would certainly have the serial number checked out, just in case. If it was used in a crime and was needed as evidence, it wouldn't mean the loss of the gun. Just that the police would need it for a while and you could get it back.

Ooh, "Fairytale of New York." Definitely one of my favorites, but alas probably not playable in my classroom. Curses!

In other news, I made a kickass snowman blueprint, with multiple assembly views and a parts list, and my students are totally not impressed. How lame!

Please do not contact me again.

This is what I tend to go with, and it usually works.

Ok. That’s wicked cool. What’s the matter with your students?

Could someone please explain to me why it’s going to snow EVERYWHERE I’m driving through tomorrow and Friday, and then on my way home on Sunday it’s gonna add wind? Why? Why???? I want to go away. I need to go away. I don’t want no snow and wind getting in my way.

Emily, can you check e-mail right now? If so, I'm going to send you something that needs a fairly quick answer.
